The Players Club of Swarthmore opens a thrilling futuristic drama on Friday, Nov 12. It's Girl in the Machine by Stef Smith, and it comes to Second Stage at PCS from the Edinburgh International Science Festival.

Join in for a special one-night performance of GARDEN OF ALLA: The Alla Nazimova Story. Formerly known as PLACES, this multimedia solo show about one of Broadway's biggest stars, silent film legend and trailblazing LGBTQ+ iconoclast Alla Nazimova, is written and performed by Romy Nordlinger.

The Drama League Directors Project is the paramount mentoring and career development program for early-career stage directors. Since its founding in 1984, the Drama League's Directors Project has over 300 alumni working in all facets of entertainment ranging from Broadway to television.

This week, on Thursday, August 19th, at 9 pm, THE PLAYERS CLUB, a historic club founded by Edwin Booth, will present Ernie Bird: A Composer's Night. The first concert dedicated to Ernie Bird's music, and his life as a theatre composer, will include songs from the musicals he composed for.

NYSAF returns July 17-August 1 with in-person programming in Poughkeepsie for their 2021 Summer Season.  In partnership with Vassar College, Marist College, and Revel 32 °, NYSAF will serve the needs of theater and film artists today, bringing them safely together in community to generate new stories and reconnect with one another and audiences.

On Wednesday, Oct 21 at 8 pm, the Players Club of Swarthmore will present a live reading, via web streaming, of All the Dead Frogs, a new play by Sam M. Friskey.

Scheduled to premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2020 with a full cast, Florencia Iriondo's SOUTH, a new musical about a young Argentinian girl immigrating to the United States presenting a soulful South American folk-pop score, has been reimagined minimally for vocalist and guitar and will be performed in a safely distanced intimate live and live streamed show from the rooftop terrace of The Core Club, 66 East 55th Street, NYC, Friday October 16 at 4pm.

As part of their Performance on Screen series, Irish Repertory Theatre is presenting Love, Noël: The Letters and Songs of Noël Coward, directed by Charlotte Moore, and starring cabaret legends Steve Ross and KT Sullivan.

Stars in The House, benefiting The Actors Fund, continued today (2pm) for VARIETY THURSDAY with Delia Ephron, Carol Kane, and N'Kenge, and the cast of PBS' Mass including Isabel Santiago, Karim Sulayman and Paulo Szot. Joined by director Kevin Newbury.

Next up on The Players Club of Swarthmore's Mainstage is Lisa D'Amour's (Cherokee, Nita & Zita, Airline Highway) gritty, funny, intensely emotional and cautionary play, Detroit. The play is set in a suburb of a mid-sized American city. Ben and Mary, a most dysfunctional couple invite their new neighbors, Kenny and Sharon for a cookout. The barbecue is filled with strong uneasy tension that gradually escalates into a series of out-of-control events that gives new meaning to dysfunctional behavior. Detroit was a Pulitzer Prize finalist and one of The New York Times top ten plays of 2012. Detroit is directed by George Mulford. Tickets are available online at www.pcstheater.org. The McCallum Theatre, in partnership with Break-Away Tours, is pleased to announce its 2020 Springtime Theatre Tour to New York.  The New York trip is 7 days/6 nights from Wednesday, May 13th through Tuesday, May 19th, 2020.  Guests will be staying at the Westin Times Square Hotel.  Four exciting Broadway productions are included: MOULIN ROUGE, SIXa??THE MUSICAL, MRS. DOUBTFIRE, a new musical based on the film and FLYING OVER SUNSET.  

Next up on the Second Stage, The Players Club of Swarthmore's Children's Series presents, Elephant and Piggie's We Are in a Play. With book and lyrics by Mo Willems and music by Deborah Wicks La Puma, Elephant and Piggie's We Are in a Play is a rollicking adventure perfect for young audiences. It will leave you doing the a?oeFlippy Floppy Floorya?? dance. Erin Guard is the director, Ryan Goulden is the music director and Jody Haggerty is the choreographer.      

Next up on The Players Club of Swarthmore's Main Stage is Next to Normal, a moving and intimate musical about the devastating effects of mental illness on a contemporary suburban family. Next to Normal features book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey (If/then, The Last Ship). Music by Tom Kitt (High Fidelity, From Up Here). Next to Normal won three Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for drama. Next to Normal is directed by Ed Robins. Music direction is by Raquel Garcia. Choreography is by Julianna Schauerman.
