Opening night of Speakeasy marked the re-opening of 'Broadway's Best Restaurant', Bond45, after over a year of being shuttered. Speakeasy runs from June 25-July 31.

It's no accident that the start of this weekend’s live concert performances by Carmen Cusack at The Old Globe is her singing “I can’t wait to see your face” as she enters the stage.  It’s the most appropriate song for a performer and the audience who have waited through quarantine, zoom performances, and another technology-based theatre to make it to this point - a performer who is live on stage.  Carmen is performing at The Old Globe through Sunday, June 27th.

Oregon Shakespeare Festival has announced the month-long, five-play O! Reading Series. For this new initiative, five directors who are part of OSF’s artistic staff have each chosen a play to be performed as a live digital staged reading by some of OSF’s favorite actors.

The Clive & Valerie Barnes Foundation has announced their Innovation Awards in Dance and Theatre.  Unlike previous years, the Foundation chose to honor one  winner in each category that demonstrated outstanding innovation during the past year.  Each awardee will receive a $5,000 gift.   

Speakeasy - Times Square, is an all-in-one immersive supper club experience that combines lavish performances with a deliciously decadent drink, dinner, and nightclub experience. Speakeasy sets up summer residency at Times Square's legendary eatery Bond45 in the Hotel Edison.

Oscar, Emmy  and  Golden Globe nominated actress JoBeth Williams and Award winning Broadway, film and television actor Harris Yulin are set to star in the next monthly digital presentation of the new play  We Have To Hurry, streaming live via Broadway on Demand for two performances only, Saturday, July 10th at 8pm and Sunday, July 11th at 3pm.

The Old Globe is back and ready to party! Celebrate is the theme of the 2021 Globe Gala, held on Saturday, September 25 in support of the theatre’s arts engagement and artistic programs and in salute of all the generous philanthropists who have supported the Globe during its 15 months of closure.

Independent producer Adam Kern will present a reading of Ken Kaissar's Play The Victims Or: What do you want me to do about it?, which will have a virtual reading on Thursday June 24th 2021 at 8:00 PM EST on Zoom.  

It’s summer, theatres are reopening, and Solea Pfeiffer is coming back to The Old Globe on June 19th and 20th to kick off their cabaret series, what more do you need to kickstart a great theatre season?  When asked about the cabaret Solea said, “To be totally honest with you, this cabaret is just about joy.”

Melancholy Man, a dance short film, directed and choreographed by James Kinney with cinematography and editing by Pierre Marais is available for viewing on Vimeo, Social Media Platforms and selected film festivals beginning Wednesday, June 16th. The film is produced by Nicole LaFountaine.

Moongate Productions will present the world premiere of who we are, a one act play written and directed by Christine Toy Johnson at the Women's Theatre Festival WTFringe2021 on July 9 at 6 pm EST with subsequent performances on July 17 at 6 pm EST and 24 at 6:30 pm EST.

After what will be a 23-month intermission, The Muny's 103rd season will open with the Muny premiere of Smokey Joe's Cafe, followed by The Sound of Music, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, On Your Feet! and Chicago.

The series will feature the return of Solea Pfeiffer (the Globe's Almost Famous, national tour of Hamilton), Tony Award nominee Carmen Cusack (Bright Star at the Globe and on Broadway, Broadway's upcoming Flying Over Sunset), and Eden Espinosa (the Globe's Rain, Broadway's Wicked and Rent) to the Globe.

The Old Globe today announced plans for the long-awaited full reopening of its three theatres in Balboa Park. Audiences will be able to once again gather in the Globe’s outdoor theatre starting June 4 and in the two indoor theatres in September.

Paper Mill has announced the return of its wildly popular Brookside Cabaret starting Wednesday, June 9. The outdoor series, which debuted last summer, features world-class performers and fine dining under the stars at the F.M. Kirby Carriage House Restaurant.
