The Old Globe announced that in order to provide the safest and healthiest space possible for patrons, staff, casts, program participants, and crews, as of Tuesday, August 24, 2021, all patrons who attend an event or performance at The Old Globe will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and present proof of vaccination in order to enter its theatres.

BIRDLAND THEATER will present “The Lineup” with Susie Mosher – the wild, anything-goes variety show featuring entertainers from the Broadway, cabaret and comedy scenes – every Tuesday evening at 8:30 PM.

La Jolla Playhouse has announced that Eric Keen-Louie, who joined the Playhouse in 2018 as Producing Director, will take on the new role of Executive Producer at the Theatre. As lead producer, Keen-Louie will collaborate with Playhouse staff to oversee assembling creative teams, casting, production budgets, and artistic development.  

Daniels will lead the vision and strategy for cultural programming across the institution, including theater performances, concerts, poetry readings, talks, screenings, and other humanities programs inspired by the Folger collection, in the Folger's historic Elizabethan Theatre as well as new galleries and public spaces created by the building renovation.

HAIR feels like a fitting show to open after the extended theatre shut down; it's full of hope, rage, protests, and the desire to make change happen. The Old Globe brings back this musical with an incredibly talented cast who have outstanding vocals, and direction that shows how relevant the show's themes still are today.  HAIR is playing at The Old Globe through October 3rd.

Just two days before the opening performance of the American tribal love-rock musical Hair and amid strong demand in tickets, The Old Globe announced a one-week extension of the show due to popular demand. Resident Artist James Vásquez (The Old Globe’s American Mariachi and Tiny Beautiful Things) directs a cast of 16.

Celebrate is the theme of the 2021 Globe Gala, held on Saturday, September 25 in support of the The Old Globe's arts engagement and artistic programs and as a salute to all the generous philanthropists who have supported the Globe during its 15 months of closure. Globe Board members Jennifer Greenfield and Sheryl White serve as Co-Chairs, and Darlene Marcos Shiley is the Honorary Gala Chair.

FEINSTEIN’S/54 BELOW, Broadway’s Supper Club, will present TODD BUONOPANE in “ALL WASHED UP” on August 26th at 9:45pm. In 2020, Todd Buonopane (Broadway’s Cinderella, Chicago, Grease & Spelling Bee) taught us how to survive a quarantine by singing lady songs in his bathtub. Well, Todd is out of the tub and onstage at 54 Below!

The Old Globe has announced the full cast and creative team for The Gardens of Anuncia, featuring book, music, and lyrics by five-time Tony Award nominee Michael John LaChiusa (the Globe’s Rain, Broadway’s The Wild Party).

Sean Cercone, President and CEO of Broadway Licensing, a full-service theatrical licensing partner specializing in the development, production and worldwide distribution of new and established theatrical properties, announced today that they have hired Kent Nicholson as Director of Acquisitions and Colleen McCormack as Director of Amateur Play Licensing. Tralen Doler has been named Vice President of Partnerships and Brand Engagement.

The Old Globe announced today that the theatre will recognize San Diego health care workers for their service and dedication throughout the COVID-19 pandemic with tickets to its production of the legendary love-rock musical Hair. The Globe will offer a limited number of free tickets to health care workers for every performance of the show during its run from August 10 to September 26.

 Teatro San Diego premiers their inaugural production SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD via streaming from August 5th - 15th. Executive Director Julio Catano and the talented creative team talk about their roles in and some of their favorite moments while creating this show.
