On October 12, Music for Autism's Junior Board hosted a crowd of over 100 young professionals, friends and loved ones at District CoWork for a vibrant and musical evening full of food, drinks, and phenomenal performances. Thanks to their fabulous and talented musician friends, guests were treated to Broadway caliber musical theater while they sipped on beverages courtesy of Given Liquor and Paralelo Vineyards. They also dined on deliciously healthy fare from their friends at OxVerte.

Now that the HAMILTON cast album has been out in the world for a bit, and the company of the hit musical is planning to celebrate. On October 16, Lin-Manuel Miranda took audience questions then be joined by cast members to sign the original Broadway cast recording at the Upper East Side Barnes & Noble (150 East 86th Street). On October 25th the popular Broadway Understudies twitter account (@understudies) has once again invited some of Broadway's most talented understudies to the stage of the Laurie Beechman Theatre to share their rare talent-the ability to perform at a second's notice. They'll be thrown into the fire in the 6th edition of 'Half Hour: A Last Minute Concert,' a show where even they don't know what they'll be singing before they step up to the microphone. The audience will get to vote on what song each performer will sing.

On Monday, October 12, 2015, Music for Autism will hold a fundraiser at District CoWork NoMad. Featured performers include Broadway veteran, Cody Williams (On the Town, Cinderella, Memphis), Alysha Umphress (On the Town), Thayne Jasperson (Hamilton), and Joe Iconis and family. The event will feature cocktails and hors d'oeuvres and will run from 6:00-9:00pm, with the performance beginning at 7:15pm. Tickets begin at $75 and can be purchased in advance at http://www.eventbrite.com/e/a-musical-evening-benefiting-music-for-autism-tickets-2563832492 or at the door.

On August 24, 2014, NEWISES closed on Broadway. Exactly one year later, cast members from the hit Broadway musical came together on the stage of 54 Below to reminisce. In the lineup were songs of various music styles, stories and memories of their time with the show.
Below, watch as Andrew Keenan-Bolger, the original Crutchie, performs 'Letter from the Refuge'- a song that wasn't added to the show until the launch of the national tour.

The new musical Hamilton has book, music and lyrics by Tony and Grammy Award-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, who also plays the title role. The musical is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and music direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire. Hamilton is inspired by Ron Chernow's biography 'Alexander Hamilton.'
Meryl Streep just joined the long list of celebrities who have now seen the show, and BroadwayWorld was on hand to catch photos of the Hollywood living legend backstage with the cast!
