Content creator, comedian, actor and writer, Jack Maloney, writer and performer, Carmelita Tropicana and actress Meredith Garretson will host post-show talkbacks this week at EBKM’s Heartbreak Hotel Off-Broadway.
You can now get a first look at the Off-Broadway production (and US Premiere) of Heartbreak Hotel at New York’s DR2 Theatre. Heartbreak Hotel is written and created by EBKM (Eleanor Bishop & Karin McCracken).
The US premiere of EBKM’s (Eleanor Bishop & Karin McCracken) Heartbreak Hotel will begin performances at the DR2 Theatre. The U.S. premiere of Heartbreak Hotel comes on the heels of a sold out run at London’s Soho Theatre.
Occasional Drawl will present the U.S. premiere of EBKM’s (Eleanor Bishop & Karin McCracken) Heartbreak Hotel and the Off-Broadway premiere of James Hindman’s The Exhibitionist.

2020 has been a tough year for the arts in New Zealand, not only for those who appreciate the opportunity to enjoy imaginative and skilled live theatre and the power of music to stir the soul , but of course for the performers themselves. So – yes – when we get the opportunity to go to a real kiwi classic garage party, we’re delighted -- and it’s clear we are there as welcome guests. This is a chance for the whanau to get together and have a party. And what a party! It doesn’t take long before the cares of the day, week, year drop away and the audience is enraptured, engaged and smiling, laughing and singing! This show almost makes 2020 worth it.
