Ted Sperling, Artistic Director of MasterVoices, announced details of the celebrated chorus’ 80th season, celebrating the power of the human voice to unite, inspire and connect since 1941. One of the highlights includes a semi-staged concert production of the cult-favorite musical, Stephen Sondheim’s and Arthur Laurents’ Anyone Can Whistle, starring Vanessa Williams.

New York Festival of Song, led by Artistic Director Steven Blier, is presenting the 2021 NYFOS Next Festival with two concerts held at the Ann Goodman Recital Hall at Kaufman Music Center.

The New York Opera Fest will celebrate its sixth season with both virtual and in-person performances by 20+ local, New York City-based opera companies. The Public Theater announced an array of free programming has been added to The Public's digital season. Highlights include three major musical presentations at top venues, including a New York premiere, and the World Premiere of a new work, commissioned by the Company. Throughout the season there will be collaborations with leading singers, artists, ensembles and organizations, some who are familiar with and others who are new to the Company.

Poetic Theater Productions and Musical Theatre Factory are creating a one-night-only concert happening, Feeling Good: Pleasure as Ritual Resistance on August 21st at 8:00pm at Judson Memorial Church. Creating a portal through adrienne maree brown's NY Times bestselling book Pleasure Activism, this night is a gathering with artist-activists across performance disciplines who center pleasure in their work of social transformation. Feeling Good is a free event, open to all. Ticket reservations are available through Eventbrite.

Open Call, The Shed's commissioning and programming initiative for New York-based emerging artists, launches on Thursday, May 30, with new works by seven artists and collectives presented in The Griffin Theater over six weeks. The inaugural program continues June 19 through August 25 with a group show of 22 artists and collectives in Level 2 Gallery and presentations of new work by 15 artists and collectives in The Shed's open-air Plaza; a fourth group will be presented in 2020.

The return engagement of The Public Theater production of Black Light will conclude at the Greenwich House Theater (27 Barrow Street) on Sunday, November 11, following 13 previews and 30 performances. Altogether, Black Light will have played 68 performances in New York this year, starting at Joe's Pub earlier in 2018.
