MCCC's Kelsey Theatre Announces MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR

Shakespeare's light-hearted comedy about societal hierarchies and the power of love to bring them down comes to the stage at Mercer County Community College's (MCCC's) Kelsey Theatre. In their annual tribute to The Bard, Shakespeare '70 presents "The Merry Wives of Windsor" Fridays, June 22 and 29 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, June 23 and June 30 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, June 24 and July 1 at 2 p.m.

In Sweden circa 1900, the romantic entanglements of actress Desiree Armfeldt and others are revealed through Hugh Wheeler's book and Stephen Sondheim's lilting score, which was orchestrated by Jonathan Tunick. Suggested by a film by Ingmar Bergman and originally produced on Broadway by Harold Prince, the show introduced the world to the classic song, Send in the Clowns.

ActorsNET's THE CHARITABLE SISTERHOOD CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR Opens December 1

For the holidays, ActorsNET continues its 22nd season with the REGIONAL PREMIERE of a new Bo Wilson comedy a sequel to his riotous romp, The Charitable Sisterhood of the Second Trinity Victory Church, which ActorsNET staged three seasons ago at its theatre in Morrisville, PA. In the original, a southern church's ladies club saved a young runaway. This time around, they try to save Christmas for their parish after the figure of baby Jesus is stolen from their cr che.
