Broadway-journeyman Donnie Kehr will perform exclusively his current album Beautiful Strange (ROB/Jazzheads) this weekend at The Cutting Room in NYC.

After a round of pickleball in Times Square with professional players Parris Todd, Alix Truong and twin brothers Hunter and Yates Johnson and a quick chat with hosts Linsey Davis and Mary Bruce, Owen brought his signature honeyed vocal to the sunshine-infused mid-tempo. On May 10th, I had the joy of seeing Mildred's Umbrella's latest production, Elizabeth A.M. Keel's TOOTH AND TAIL. Even though the show's short run is now over, I wanted to share my thoughts about TOOTH AND TAIL to shine a light on Keel's work as well as the artistry that every person involved with the show brought to Houston.

Arlekin Players Theatre & (zero-G) Virtual Theater Lab will present the US Premiere of THE GAAGA, a new site specific phantasmagoria written and directed by celebrated Ukrainian playwright and director Sasha Denisova. 

Erykah Badu has joined Netflix's upcoming film adaptation of The Piano Lesson. Badu will make a cameo for musical performances in the new feature. She will join Samuel L. Jackson, John David Washington, Ray Fisher, and Michael Potts, who will be reprising their Broadway performances in the film.

The 30-date run, which kicks off on September 17, in Charlotte, NC, comes on heels of the release of “Blood and Sugar” (Fearless/Concord), the band’s first new song since 2012. Direct support for the entire tour will be State Champs, while Four Year Strong, 3OH!3, LOLO, The Summer Set, The Ready Set, and Max Bemis will also offer support.

The Getaway will be the final run of U.S. dates in support of the band’s recently released smash album Cracker Island, and will kick off on Sunday, September 10 at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, with stops at Q2 Stadium in Austin on Wednesday, September 13 and Credit 1 Union Amphitheatre in Chicago on September 16.

In two weeks, TOOTSIE, the hilarious Tony Award-winning musical, is coming to Overture Center for the Arts for a limited one-week engagement from Tuesday, June 13 to Sunday, June 18 in Overture Hall.
