The New York Pops will celebrate its 42nd birthday by honoring songwriter Diane Warren at a gala event on April 28, 2025, at Carnegie Hall, featuring performances and tributes.

This reviewer thoroughly enjoyed the evening of American Songbook scores from Max Von Essen. The NY Pops' 2024-25 season continues with Merry and Bright, their holiday celebration with Jessica Vosk on December 20 and 21, 2024.

Here was the late Tina Turner returned in the form of Adrienne Warren for one evening! The NY Pops continue their 2024-25 season on 11/15 with Max von Essen.

Maestro Steven Reineke never ceases to amaze me with the wide range of artists he brings to DC to play with YOUR National Symphony Orchestra (NSO). In the past he’s featured everything from such Broadway stars as Norm Lewis and Megan Hilty to Grammy winning Latin performers Ozomatli. He always introduces his audiences to music they might not be familiar with, and I very much appreciate that both as a reviewer and as an audience member.

The New York Pops kicked off its 2024-25 season on Friday, October 18, 2024 in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall with Simply the Best: A Tina Turner Tribute with Adrienne Warren. Check out photos from the performance here!

Max von Essen will perform with The New York Pops at Carnegie Hall on November 15, 2024. The concert will feature a selection of Broadway hits and classic tunes, showcasing von Essen's vocal talents.

THE NEW YORK POPS UNDERGROUND helped to raise money for PopsEd, a wonderful program helping to bring music education and appreciation programs to NYC's children. The gala, featuring performances by Matt Doyle and Max Clayton, kicked off the Pops' 2024 to 2025 season which continues on Friday 10/18 with Adrienne Warren at Carnegie Hall.

There are galas and there are galas and, then, there was what Black Theatre United pulled off last night, September 30th, celebrating GENERATIONS OF EXCELLENCE at the Ziegfeld Ballroom. From the moment you walked in to the moment you left, the love, respect, admiration and warmth throughout the evening was palpable.

In September, Sara Bareilles performed three orchestral shows with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center. The performances were filmed for PBS' Next at the Kennedy Center program and now the channel has revealed the premiere date of the special.

The Four Seasons had a hit song many years ago with a lyric that went “Oh! What a Night!” That is how I can best describe watching singer/songwriter/actress Sara Bareilles with YOUR National Symphony Orchestra (NSO), under the always stellar direction of Maestro Steven Reineke in Kennedy Center’s Concert Hall.

Adrienne Warren will join The New York Pops for a Tina Turner tribute at Carnegie Hall on October 18. The event will celebrate the music and legacy of the iconic singer with a special performance.

When summer ends many people get depressed. Let’s face it, you can’t go to the beach or your private summer home for another year. However, you can look on the bright side of things knowing that the end of summer brings a new season of audible brilliance from the mighty National Symphony Orchestra (NSO). This past Saturday evening, the NSO Pops season opened with a bang as Tony Award winning performer Heather Headley made her Kennedy Center Concert Hall debut. The evening featured lots of show tunes, a choir, a TV vocal competition winner, and most importantly, YOUR NSO under the baton of Maestro Steven Reineke.

After a dozen years of sold-out engagements at the Art House, and a Covid-necessitated poolside show at the Crown & Anchor in 2020, Maye is back this year to give a Broadway-themed concert at Town Hall on August 25, with Tedd Firth on piano, Steve Doyle on bass, and Daniel Glass on drums.

The New York Pops has just announced the appointments of Megan Hayes and Dorothy Samuels to its Board of Directors.
