The National Arts Club (NAC) has selected Inda Craig-Galván as the recipient of the 2019 Kesselring Prize for playwriting. Since 1980, the $25,000 award has been presented to an outstanding playwright deserving of national recognition.

Capital Stage launches its 15th Anniversary Season with the critically acclaimed and multiple award winning play Between Riverside And Crazy by Stephen Adly Guirgis. Judith Moreland, director of An Octoroon, returns to direct local favorite James Wheatley as a?oePopsa?? in his Capital Stage main stage debut. The Sacramento Premiere of Between Riverside And Crazy will preview Aug. 28th, 29th, and 30th. A Press Opening will be on Sat. Aug. 31st at 8:00 pm. Performances will run through Sep. 29th. The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust today announced that the 12th-Annual a?oeMimia?? Awards will be presented on Monday, January 13, 2020 at Lincoln Center Theater. The a?oeMimia?? Awards are presented annually to honor the outstanding artistry and accomplishments of some of the most gifted American playwrights.

Loft Ensemble in North Hollywood has announced the first production of its eighth season, Our Lady of 121st Street by Stephen Adly Guirgis. Under the direction of Adam Chambers, the cast will feature (in alphabetical order) Ben Anderson, Bridget Avildsen, Ela Castillo, Nandi Chapman, Brett Clevenger, Noah Copfer, Paige Gallagher, Barbera Ann Howard, Zenarra James, Mark Leclerc, Brian Majestic, Kristian Maxwell-McGeever, Mphatso Mgongira, Ignacio Navarro, Chris Oliver, Kevin Padilla, La'Vel Stacy, Abbygail Williams, Jared Wilson, and Nora Yessayan. Opening is set for Saturday, August 10, at 8pm and the engagement will continue through Sunday, September 15 only.

Brandon Victor Dixon (NBC's Jesus Christ Superstar - Emmy nominee) and Danny Hoch (a?oeShe's Gotta Have Ita??)  join the list of guest artists for REBEL VERSES, a two-week festival of performances by some of the best youth companies in New York City and beyond. Vineyard Theatre and Developing Artists partner again to present Developing Artists' REBEL VERSES beginning performances Thursday, August 8 through August 17 at Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th Street).

Loft Ensemble has announced its eighth anniversary season, the first in its new North Hollywood location. The slate of plays will feature four world premieres, a holiday comedy, and five productions in Sawyer's Playhouse, the company's 40-seat space upstairs from the main stage.

San Francisco Playhouse is thrilled to announce that their production of Dipika Guha's Yoga Play will move to Laguna Playhouse this fall. San Francisco Playhouse Artistic Director Bill English will direct, with most of the original Playhouse cast reprising their roles in the Southern California production.

Winner of the 2015 Pulitzer Prize, Stephen Adly Guirgis's Between Riverside and Crazy will play at The Weekend Theater July 26 through Aug. 11.

Atlantic Theater Company has announced its 2019-2020 season productions.

LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) summer season 2019 will run from 29 May to 17 July at the drama school's West London campus. Directed by industry professionals, the summer season marks the final productions of LAMDA's graduating acting and technical students as they prepare to embark on their professional careers. LAMDA graduates have gone on to enjoy illustrious careers on stage, screen and behind the scenes, with alumni including Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Ruth Wilson and David Oyelowo. As part of its commitment to offer local residents increased access to the dramatic arts, half price tickets are available for Hammersmith & Fulham residents.
