The Town Hall presents Broadway By The Year©: Broadway Musicals of 1928 and 1935 on Monday, February 25 at 8pm. Created, written, hosted and directed by Scott Siegel for The Town Hall, the evening marks the beginning of Broadway By The Year©'s 19th season at The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street).
Tony Award Nominee's Hailey Kilgore (Once on This Island), Saycon Sengbloh (Eclipsed) and Jennifer Damiano (Next to Normal) are part of the lineup for Scott Alan's February 25 return to Birdland.

Cher is on Broadway this season, played at three stages of her life by the incomparable Stephanie J. Block, Teal Wicks and Micaela Diamond. Retreat to Broadway, a national non-profit project that pairs innovative programming with live theater, is launching their second national arts education initiative focused on the groundbreaking musical, RENT. Not only does Retreat to Broadway want to help increase viewership for Fox's national telecast of 'RENT Live!' on January 27, but they also want to provide a unique framework to discuss the important themes RENT presents its audiences: celebrating differences, empathy, cultural diversity, addiction, mindfulness, conflict resolution, acceptance of self and others, etc.

Birdland mainstays Jim Caruso & Billy Stritch return to Birdland Theater with 'The Sunday Set,' an evening of swinging standards Sundays, February 3, 10 and 17, with shows at 7:30pm. Bassist Steve Doyle will join the duo. Caruso and Stritch, who have performed extensively on their own, gained national exposure together as the host and musical director of the wildly popular open mic, Cast Party, which celebrates talent every Monday at Birdland in NYC, and tours nationally. The duo has also received critical acclaim during their seven years at Bemelmans at The Carlyle Hotel, and made international news when rock legend Bono joined them in an impromptu performance. The musical pair has also become the darlings of the show biz set, welcoming spontaneous performances by stars including Liza Minnelli, Michael Feinstein, Jane Monheit, Clint Holmes, Marilyn Maye, Stephanie J. Block, Steve Ross, Linda Lavin, Darren Criss, Luann de Lesseps, Laura Osnes, Liliane Montevecchi, Christine Ebersole, and Steve Tyrell.

BroadwayCon has announced today that the new bio musical The Cher Show has joined the BroadwayCon 2019 MainStage lineup. As part of the Spotlight series, the panel will feature cast members STEPHANIE J. BLOCK (Star), TEAL WICKS (Lady), MICAELA DIAMOND (Babe), JARROD SPECTOR (Sonny Bono), MICHAEL BERRESSE (Bob Mackie/Robert Altman/Frank), MICHAEL CAMPAYNO (Rob Camilletti/Lee), and MATTHEW HYDZIK (Gregg Allman/John Southall) on Friday, January 11, at 4:15 p.m.
When it comes to sweeping, grand romances, the musicals from the 'golden age' of the mid-20th century can't be beat - including Brigadoon, which most recently received a production at New York City Center in 2017.
