There are galas and there are galas and, then, there was what Black Theatre United pulled off last night, September 30th, celebrating GENERATIONS OF EXCELLENCE at the Ziegfeld Ballroom. From the moment you walked in to the moment you left, the love, respect, admiration and warmth throughout the evening was palpable.

Tony winning actress/comedienne Julie Halston returned to the Birdland stage live and in person on Monday, January 30, and photographer Kevin Alvey was there to catch all the fun!

On Monday, October 17, Julie Halston returned to the Birdland stage after two-and-a-half years of global pandemic Zoom Meetings and Green Screens. The Tony-winning actress/comedienne brought her new show “De-Classified,” in which she assesses the state of the world, the state of her life and the state of her hair.

The Countess Luann de Lesseps, arguably the most popular cast member of THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NEW YORK CITY reality series in the BRAVO franchise, was on fire last night at Feinstein’s/54 Below.

Urban Stages' Board of Directors and founding artistic director Frances Hill celebrated 35 years of acclaimed Off-Broadway plays/musicals and art programming at The Central Park Boathouse last night, May 15 at 6:30 pm.

Urban Stages' Board of Directors and founding artistic director Frances Hill presented the 2017 Urban Stages' Lifetime Achievement Award to Oscar, Emmy and Tony Award-winning legendary set and costume designer Tony Walton.  The celebrated Broadway, TV and film star,  Melissa Errico, ("Billions", My Fair Lady, High Society, Encores' Do I Hear a Waltz?), presented the award to her mentor and close friend, Tony Waltonat the annual benefit at the Boathouse in Central Park. 

Sharon Bush, Philanthropist & Founder/Chief Executive Officer of Teddy Share, Arianna Huffington, Chair, President & Editor-in-Chief of the Huffington Post Media Group, and Joan Vail Thorne, playwright and director, were Women's Project Theater's 2014 Women of Achievement, who were inducted at its 29th Annual Gala Celebration at the Mandarin Oriental, 80 Columbus Circle, on Monday, March 10. Veanne Cox and Doug Wamble lead a musical tribute to lyricist Dorothy Fields. Also on hand throughout the evening were presenters David Hyde Pierce and Stanley Zareff. Check out a look back below!

It was a starry night on Broadway, as theater legends and American icons came out to support the launch of the Broadway Walk of Stars project. Arlene Dahl, creator of the project, had dreamt for years of lining New York's most famous thoroughfare with stars.

Bay Street Theatre's 2009 Summer Gala Benefit Bash lit up the Long Wharf in Sag Harbor this past Saturday evening, treating guests to a celebration of the 60's from start to finish, providing a groovy good time for all!

On Monday, May 11, 2009, the Lower Eastside Service Center held its 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner and Silent Auction at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in New York City, hosted by Melissa Russo, WNBC Anchor and Government Affairs Reporter. LESC proudly honored three distinguished citizens for their commitment of service.
