Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival is set to round out its 30th Anniversary Season in Vanier Park, with the staging of Coriolanus on the Howard Family Stage in the Douglas Campbell Theatre. Directed by Dean Paul Gibson (The Winter's Tale, 2017 and A Midsummer Night's Dream, 2014), Coriolanus is making its first appearance at Bard in the Festival's 30-year history.

Bard on the Beach continues its 30th season with a stylish stage adaptation of the lively Oscar-winning romantic comedy, Shakespeare in Love.

On Monday, March 11, 2019 at 6pm, the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) and The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts present OpenICE: Collecting George Lewis at The Bruno Walter Auditorium.

Nightwood Theatre's Board of Directors are thrilled to announce Andrea Donaldson as the new Artistic Director. With nearly 20 years of professional experience, Andrea has been a vibrant presence in Toronto's theatre scene. She has worked as a playwright, actor, and producer but most significantly she has focused her career on Directing and Artistic Direction with a strong emphasis on new play development and nurturing women's voices. Andrea will assume her new role in May 2019. Kelly Thornton will remain Artistic Director until April 30, 2019.

In this community conversation as part of JACK's ongoing Reparations365 series exploring the topic of distributive justice for Black Americans, we'll look at the relation between philanthropic giving and radical social change.  We'll explore examples of new philanthropic initiatives that look to shift power instead of maintaining the status quo, also looking at examples of philanthropy around racial justice that have done little more than further existing hierarchies.

BET Networks and Paramount Players announced the top ten semifinalists of its nationwide competition,“PROJECT CRE8” that will give one aspiring, undiscovered filmmaker the potential opportunity to produce a feature film with a million-dollar budget. The search kicked-off at the Sundance Festival and after hundreds of submissions the contestants were narrowed down to the top ten. Each semifinalist was given $2,500 and tasked with producing a 3-5 minutes scene from their original screenplay in one month. Now viewers have the power to automatically advance an aspiring director to the final round by voting for their favorite scene. Originally from Leduc, Alberta, just 15 minutes south of Edmonton, Hal Wesley Rogers first discovered his passion for acting after seeing the Citadel Theatre's 2006 production of Peter Pan. Rogers, now based in Vancouver, returns to his home province for the Pre-Broadway Canadian Premiere of Hadestown. The Citadel's Sydnee Bryant (fun fact: they went to the same high school!) spoke with Rogers about his role as a Worker and what it's like to appear on the Citadel stage for the first time.
