As Broadway week launches across New York, Broadway shows are lining up performances on the ever-popular Today Show. Next up are Kiss Me, Kate and Beetlejuice.

Previous Lucille Lortel Award winner and multiple nominee, Mike Birbiglia, has been announced as host of the 2019 Lucille Lortel Awards, set to take place Sunday, May 5, at the NYU Skirball Center.

Theatre Ventures (Mark Kaufman) and Langley Park Productions (Kevin McCormick) opens tonight, April 25, at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway).

Today, the ghost-with-the-most makes his Broadway debut in this edgy and irreverent musical comedy, BEETLEJUICE, based on Tim Burton's dearly beloved film. Beetlejuice tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager whose whole life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple and a demon with a thing for stripes. When Lydia calls on Beetlejuiceto scare away anyone with a pulse, this double-crossing specter shows his true stripes, unleashing a (Nether)world of pandemonium, and the biggest sandworm Broadway has ever seen.

Will Petruchio jack it all in and stay a bachelor? Will Kate be tamed or tanked? Sh!t-faced Shakespeare® returns to Leicester Square Theatre with their drunken antics and drunken actors to tell the tale of a shrew who turns from tempestuous to tamed, probably. With one genuinely inebriated actor every night, The Taming of the Shrew features cross dressing, food fights, a highly underwhelming horse, one too many bum cheeks and more twisted gender politics than you can shake a fawning fat-skinned fustilarian at!

SHOWTIME has announced the cast for HOMBRE, its new pilot from Academy Award® nominee Jonas Cuarón (Gravity). Marisé Alvarez (The Vessel), Greg Grunberg (A Star Is Born), Pepi Sonuga (Famous In Love), Adriana Santos (Taken) and Noah Reyes will join executive producer and Golden Globe® winner Gael García Bernal (Mozart In The Jungle, Coco) for the emotional thriller, which is set to begin production at the end of April in Los Angeles. The project is created by Cuarón, who will also direct the pilot and serve as executive producer. HOMBRE is a co-production from SHOWTIME and Makeready.

Due to popular demand, the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T) has added an additional week of performances to the run of its world premiere production of We Live in Cairo written by brothers Daniel Lazour and Patrick Lazour.
