The Lewis and Shirley White Theatre will kick off its 2022-2023 season with an homage to that contribution with a special one-performance concert on Sunday, Oct. 2, 'A Place for Us: A Musical Celebration of Jewish Broadway' an award-winning production, starring award-winning NYC entertainer Ari Axelrod.

Country singer Patsy Cline became one of the most celebrated crossover artists of the 1950s and early 1960s known for her hits, including 'Crazy' and 'Walking After Midnight.' When she tragically died in a 1963 plane crash, fans were devastated but her music lived on.

Remember SpongeBob Square Pants, the joyful, fun-loving, childish, and accident-prone sea sponge who starred in the Nickelodeon television series? While Kansas City is far from his ocean home, SpongeBob and his beloved friends have found their way to Theatre in the Park in “The SpongeBob Musical,” the final OUTDOOR production of the 2022 summer season!

Eleven award-winning movies will be featured as part of the 22nd Kansas City Jewish Film Festival (KCJFF), presented by The Lewis and Shirley White Theatre at The Jewish Community Center (The J).

The Kinnor Philharmonic will celebrate the musical achievements of three musical pupils of former Kansas City Symphony Concertmaster and violinist Tiberius Klausner in a special concert on Sunday, June 12 at 3 p.m. in The Lewis and Shirley White Theatre of the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City.

The White Theatre presents world premiere of “Surviving Hitler” April 9-14; the play is the story of the co-founder of Midwest Center for Holocaust Education.

It was 1939 when a 12-year-old Jack Mandelbaum’s world was completely turned upside down. The Nazis invaded his Polish home sending his family to the death camps changing his life forever. Six million Jews would die at the hands of Hitler, yet Mandelbaum survived the horrors of the concentration camps. Mandelbaum created a new life for himself with a family of his own. He became a successful businessman and co-founded the Midwest Center for Holocaust Education, an organization that teaches the history of the Holocaust, applying its lessons to counter indifference, intolerance and genocide.

The Lewis and Shirley White Theatre of The Jewish Community Center (The J) continues to expand its artistic horizons with its first William Shakespeare production as part of its 15th season. Shakespeare's magical masterpiece, The J's production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT's DREAM is directed by Sidonie Garrett, Executive Artistic Director at The Heart of America Shakespeare Festival.

The Lewis and Shirley White Theatre of The Jewish Community Center (The J) continues to expand its artistic horizons with its first William Shakespeare production as part of its 15th season. Shakespeare's magical masterpiece, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM will open for its limited five-performance run at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday evening, Feb. 8, at The White Theatre, located at The J, 5801 W. 115th St., in Overland Park. Additional evening performances are Thursday, Feb. 13 and Saturday, Feb. 15. Two matinee performances are Sundays, Feb. 9 and 16 with curtain at 2 p.m. On Feb. 12 there will be a special school performance at 9 a.m. Details and tickets are available at TheWhiteTheatre.org.

It's Delightful, it's Delicious, it's De-lovelya?"it's the musical ANYTHING GOES, with Cole Porter's magical music underscoring this age-old tale of boy meets girl. ANYTHING GOES opens Saturday, Nov. 2 at The Lewis and Shirley White Theatre, located at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City (The J). Additional performances continue Nov. 3-17.
