The new production of Shakespeare's Hamlet, directed by Sean Mathias with Ian McKellen in an age-blind interpretation, is set to begin performances 21 June at Theatre Royal Windsor.

Ian McKellen is set to play Hamlet at Theatre Royal Windsor later this year. The age-blind production is notable because the role is usually played by an actor under 40.

Tickets go on general sale tomorrow (Saturday 20 March 2021) and priority sale today at 11am for the Theatre Royal's inaugural Summer Season opening with Shakespeare's Hamlet. The first major new production to be staged following lockdown, directed by Sean Mathias and starring Ian McKellen in an age-blind interpretation of the young Prince with integrated casting, will open at the Theatre Royal Windsor on 21 June 2021.

The full cast has been announced for the UK and Ireland tour of The Exorcist, starring national treasure and BAFTA Award Winner, Paul Nicholas, most recognised for playing the role of Vince Pinner in the celebrated British sitcom Just Good Friends, who will play Father Merin.
