When the world premiere production of Swept Away, with music and lyrics by The Avett Brothers, concluded its third extension at Berkeley Rep on Sunday, March 13, fans had traveled to see the show from every state in the nation, as well as from eight different countries around the world.

Following a positive response from audiences and critics alike, Berkeley Rep has announced that the world premiere of Swept Away will extend for a third and final week. The popular show will now run through Sunday, March 13.

BroadwayWorld has a first look at The Avett Brothers musical Swept Away, as well as a never-before seen set list of the musical numbers performed in the show. The set list is penned by Seth Avett and includes “Lord Lay Your Hand On My Shoulder,” a new song he wrote specifically for the production.

Broadway by the Bay is ending the year by releasing Home, Hope & Holidays, a holiday musical celebration recorded by its alumni artists.  The album features 21 holiday favorites, sung by over 65 alumni artists and musicians.

'Professor' Harold Hill shows up in River City with the hopes of scoring a profitable scam by convincing the townspeople that he can teach their children to play musical instruments.

Broadway By the Bay, the Peninsula based award-winning musical theater company, announced today the four musicals that will make up their 2018 season. Launching the season in March 2018 will be the 1957 musical theater classic, The Music Man. Summer will kick off like a great ball of fire with the hit rock-n-roll musical Million Dollar Quartet, followed by the 70s disco-era hit Saturday Night Fever. The season will come to a close with Elton John and Tim Rice's Tony Award-winning adaptation of Verdi's AIDA.
