An annual production to raise funds for a local museum now benefits a non-profit set up by Harper Lee.

The 2016 Drama League Award Nominees for Outstanding Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award were just announced this morning at Sardi's, by Aladdin stars Adam Jacobs, Courtney Reed and James Monroe Iglehart. NBC has announced that on Monday, April 18 Michelle Williams will stop by TODAY to talk about starring in the Broadway drama BLACKBIRD.

The annual Playwrights for a Cause benefit will be Sunday, July 24th at 7:30 pm at the Atlantic Theatre (Linda Gross Theater), 336 West 20th Street, NYC 10011. The special performance will include six original plays. This year the playwrights for the benefit will include: Israel Horovitz, Dominique Morisseau, Antoinette Nwandu, John Patrick Shanley, Regina Taylor as well as an award-winning writer from the Planet Connections community that will be announced later.

True Colors Theatre Company and Jujamcyn Theaters have announced that the 8th Annual August Wilson Monologue Competition will take place on Monday, May 2nd at 7:00 p.m. at the August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street).  

Adam Rapp's WOLF IN THE RIVER, an impressionistic glimpse into the poetry of broken people, will now run through May 16. Written and directed by Adam Rapp, featuring members of The Bats, The Flea's resident acting company.

We've got some headline news this evening! 'Front page' news, even. According to the Chicago Tribune, Broadway veteran Nathan Lane and MAD MEN star John Slattery have signed on to lead a new Broadway revival of Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur's play THE FRONT PAGE this fall.

All available seats for the newly-added Friday, April 1 performance of SHUFFLE ALONGhave been priced at $40. This performance ends a previously planned four-day hiatus period of the production. The producers of SHUFFLE ALONG are offering this low-priced ticket as a thank you to the musical's enthusiastic fans who lined up outside the Music Box Theatre's box office from Monday, March 21 to Thursday, March 24 for the chance to purchase same-day $40 rush tickets, but who were unable to do so since those performances were cancelled as a result of the illness of Audra McDonald, one of the musical's stars.

The Tony Award-winning production of the National Theatre's THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME will close on Sunday, September 4, 2016. It will have played 23 previews and 800 regular performances (including 1 Actors Fund performance). The production opened on October 5, 2014 (previews began September 10, 2014) at the Barrymore Theatre.

A group of overachieving prep school students band together and learn to rock out when they meet their new, unconventional substitute teacher in Nickelodeon's highly anticipated live-action comedy series SCHOOL OF ROCK, premiering tonight, March 12, at 9:30 p.m. (ET/PT).

Adam Rapp returns to The Flea with WOLF IN THE RIVER. Featuring members of The Bats, The Flea's resident acting company, WOLF IN THE RIVER is written and directed by Rapp. Previews start tonight, March 10, with opening night slated for Monday, March 21.

David Harrower's BLACKBIRD, the Olivier Award-winning drama starring Jeff Daniels and Michelle Williams opens tonight, Thursday, March 10, at the Belasco Theatre on Broadway. The production, directed by Joe Mantello, will continue its 18-week limited engagement through June 11.
