Stage Door Theatre will present what Variety's Charles Isherwood called 'a rip-roaring, gut-busting, rib-tickling, knee-slapping, aisle-rolling … good time' musical at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center (LPAC). The 5th Avenue Theatre has announced that Mickey Thomas, the lead singer of Starship (formerly Jefferson Starship), will star as Dennis in its sensational new production of Rock of Ages. Rock of Ages is the '80s rock ballad blast that features the music of Styx, Joan Jett, Twisted Sister, and more. With Mickey Thomas as lead vocalist, Starship produced hits including "We Built This City" (which appears in the production), "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now," and "Sara."

Stage Door Theatre's move to the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center (LPAC) has proved to be the right one, according to the company's Executive Producer, Derelle Bunn.  'Our patrons' responses have been totally positive,' she says.  'They love the venue, the ambiance, and the conveniences LPAC offers them.  They've all promised they'll be back, and that they'll be bringing their friends!'

Dear Evan Hansen is now available as a young adult novel. In celebration of its release, there will be a national book tour featuring Emmich, Steven Levenson, Benj Pasek, and Justin Paul. Songs will be performed alongside the novel's release. Special guests will join the creatives along the way, find out who and where below!

When any playwright sits down to their notepad/typewriter/computer I would hope they have pinned to their workspace a note which, in very large, bold letters reads, "Is this germane to the story I'm trying to tell or is it only interesting/funny to me?" Without that question we get plays like "Seven Homeless Mammoths Wander New England" currently being offered from Fantastic.Z. There's a little gem of a play in there buried deep amongst the superfluous detritus surrounding it.

When Ren (Noah Miller) and his mother (Sarah Rose-Fish) move from Chicago to a rural town, Ren is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. What he isn't prepared for are rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher (Richard Pratt). When the reverend's rebellious daughter, Ariel (Stephanie Koffroth), sets her sights on Ren, he finds himself at odds with most of the town, including the Reverend Moore. With help from Ariel and his new best friend, Willard (Ethan Keleher), Ren challenges the law and helps heal a hurting community. Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people, guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced today that 15 young professionals have been awarded fellowships for the 2018-19 season. Theatre graduates from universities across the nation apply for this program that provides a year-long deep dive into the operations of the award-winning theatre. Fellowships cover a variety of artistic and administrative disciplines and provide specialized training that assists fellows with embarking on a professional career in the arts. Additionally, fellows participate in career development seminars, build professional contacts, and even serve as mentors themselves for Berkeley Rep's annual Teen One-Acts Festival.

Equinox Theatre Company is thrilled to present the regional premiere of Cry-Baby: The Musical Performances will be July 27 through August 18 with shows Today and Saturday nights at 7:30 PM.
