A Gift for You and Me, written and directed by Ginny Ruggieri with musical direction by Sarah Lee Michaels, will be presented on the Wilton Playshop stage from December 13-15, 2019. A Gift for You and Me is a heartwarming original story that celebrates all the joys of the season with music and dance. The story follows Tom, Alice, and their five children on a trip to New York City where they experience Times Square, make new friends, and ultimately heal old wounds. The play also features a 'show within the show' where the family and audience can enjoy a spectacular holiday show featuring talented dancers and singers. This delightful family-friendly stage show is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season.

It's just one week away from the Orlando Regional Premiere of 'Matilda, The Musical' at Theatre South Playhouse. With Productions of 'Matilda' popping up all over the country, what will make this local theater's production stand out? The Producers say, 'Size and concept.' Hillary Brook, the theater's Executive Producer explains, 'Our space is so unique in size and shape, that our 'Matilda' will be an entirely different experience than you will get in a traditional proscenium theater. Intimate moments in this type of show can often get lost in larger houses. Our 99 seat L-Shaped Black Box Theater will allow audiences to feel fully surrounded in Matilda's world and witness a re-telling of this piece with a fresh take on the author's brilliant story.

Boch Center Announces New Folk & Americana Music Series

The Boch Center, one of the nation's leading nonprofit performing arts institutions, today announced the launch of a new Folk & Americana Music Series to celebrate the genre's rich musical history and influence. The series seeks to spotlight iconic and emerging artists and introduce new audiences to the genre. The Folk & Americana Music Series will include regular concerts with Woodstock-based artists The Weight Band and rotating special guests-giving each concert its own unique experience. It will also include solo performances with notable touring artists. The series will begin with an inaugural performance at the Boch Center Shubert Theatre on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 7:30PM, featuring The Weight Band and acclaimed folk artists The Guthrie Family and The Mammals. Tickets for the April 18 performance go on sale to the general public on Thursday, March 15 at 10:00AM.

For one night, folk music legend Pete Seeger's legacy in song was celebrated by a diverse array of musical talent. The Kennedy Center Concert Hall stage held a who's who including multiple Grammy winners, living legends and up-and-coming artists performing in tribute to the singer and activist Pete Seeger. Hosted by Larry Groce of National Public Radio's MOUNTAIN STAGE, the long and satisfying evening was officially entitled PETE SEEGER AND THE POWER OF SONG: TRIBUTE TO A FOLK LEGEND. No frills, no fuss, just great music performed with the same simplicity and power Seeger was known for during his own long career.
