To any A CHORUS LINE aficionado, the mere mention of Baayork Lee will conjure up vivid memories of the original Connie Wong - the youthful-looking, 4'10' Asian-American, perky dynamo who repeatedly evaded revealing her biological age to Zach, the interviewing choreographer. Now in 2016, Baayork will be choreographing and directing her most recent production of A CHORUS LINE at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

The Hollywood Bowl's production of A Chorus Line, which plays July 29-31, will feature all-star cast, including Mario Lopez as Zach, Krysta Rodriguez as Diana Morales, Robert Fairchild as Mike Costa, Spencer Liff as Larry, Mara Davi as Maggie Winslow, J. Elaine Marcos as Connie Wong, and Jason Tam as Paul San Marco. Perhaps a lesser-known cast member is Cassie herself- Sarah Bowden.

A CHORUS LINE ist nichts weniger als eine Liebeserklarung an den Tanz - denn trotz aller Ruckschlage wollen die Bewerber nur eines: Auf einer Buhne stehen und vor Publikum tanzen. Baayork Lee, die bei der Urauffuhrung die Rolle der Connie Wong verkorperte, bringt dieses Musical auf die Buhne des Stadttheaters Klagenfurt. Fur die Rolle der Cassie konnten wir Sarah Bowden gewinnen, als Zach ist Carsten Lepper zu sehen. Die Premiere fand vergangene Woche statt, weitere Vorstellungen laufen vorerst noch bis Ende Mai. The CHICAGO ONE-MINUTE PLAY FESTIVAL (#1MPF) returns with a twist: the sixth annual event will celebrate the works of all women and women-identified playwrights and directors. The marathon evening of one-minute plays by more than 70 of Chicago's established and emerging playwrights and directors will play two nights only, Tuesday, May 3 and Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at The Den Theatre, 1333 N. Die Geschichte der rivalisierenden Jugendgangs Jets und Sharks verlagert die Thematik von „Romeo und Julia" in das New York der 50er Jahre. Die gefragte Musiktheaterregisseurin Katja Wolff inszeniert die Ereignisse rund um die ungluckliche Liebe von Tony und Maria nun fur die Wuppertaler Buhnen mit aktuellen Bezugen zu sozialen Brennpunkten unserer Zeit.

Stage Left Theatre announces the recipients of the Downstage Left Playwright Residencies for Season 33. Residencies are designed to help playwrights take a project from the conceptual stage all the way to a production-ready script. Playwrights work closely with ensemble directors and members of the literary team to design a process tailored for the particular needs of their project.

The New Classics Series wraps up its season on Sunday, March 18th at 7:00 p.m. with Lively Stones by Sarah Katherine Bowden, directed by Erica Highberg and performed in the Charity Randall Theatre at the Stephen Foster Memorial in Oakland. New Classics is a cooperative program presented by the University of Pittsburgh's Department of Theatre Arts and Pittsburgh Irish & Classical Theatre. The series is intended to highlight new works and showcase up-and-coming playwrights.
