ACT (A Contemporary Theatre) of Connecticut has announced the cast for the first production of their 2022-2023 season – GUYS AND DOLLS. The show marks the start to the theater's fifth season. 

On Friday, April 1, I had the pleasure of seeing the ACT of CT’s unique adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR.  This 1971 musical that is primarily told through music with lyrics by Tim Rice has been redesigned and reinterpreted by the director, Daniel C. Levine who has incorporated elements of The Handmaid’s Tale into this adaptation. 

BroadwayHD, the premier streaming service for live theater, announced today that Snapshots: A Musical Scrapbook from the legendary Broadway and film composer, Stephen Schwartz, and writer David Stern, is coming to the platform exclusively on December 22. 

Between college productions and the many local theatres on Long Island, it may seem there is always a production of the Kander and Ebb classic Cabaret running. However, when you have a wonderful production like the one at the Argyle Theatre, it indeed warrants another look. Excellently directed by Evan Pappas, who also serves as the theatre's Arttistic Director, and Sara Brians, who also serves as Choreographer, this superb incarnation of the Tony winning musical runs at the adorable Babylon venue through October 24th boasting a stellar cast.

Symphony Space has announced its 2021 Gala, the organization’s first event featuring live performance in its Peter Jay Sharp Theater since March 2020. In this pause, when live theatre has been interrupted across the world, Theatre Nantucket has reached out to theatres and theater university departments across the country to join in on a journey to bring Love and Information to life in this virtual moment.

Over 117 dancers from nine different countries came together with four musicians and two vocalists to bring the arts community together on one screen virtually. The project consists of Radio City Rockettes, Broadway dancers including Ashley Blair Fitzgerald, Fredric Odgaard, Colin Bradbury, Sara Brians, Chip Abbott and more. Viral dance sensation Boss Baby Brody (@bossbabybrody) is also featured dancing his heart out with his sister Dylan.

Opening Night is Saturday evening, March 14, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. Cabaret is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
