HUMAN NURTURE Launches Sheffield Studio Theatre 50th Anniversary Before UK Tour

Sheffield Theatres announces, as part of its 50th anniversary year, the cast of Human Nurture: a co-production with Theatre Centre, running in the Studio theatre from Wednesday 26 January – Saturday 12 February 2022 and in local Sheffield schools as part of a wider outreach project, led by director Rob Watt and Theatre Centre. Lucas Button (Run Sister Run) and Justice Ritchie (Dungeons and Dragons) will play the two leading roles, with Neeta Sarl (Love Reign) as the DJ.

Theatre Centre has announced the cast and creatives for the UK tour of Human Nurture by Alfred Fagon Award-shortlisted writer Ryan Calais-Cameron (Typical, Soho Theatre; Queens of Sheba, For Black Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When the Hue Gets Too Heavy, New Diorama Theatre).

The season opens with the world premiere of internationally-renowned curious directive's DECIPHERING (7 Sept – 2 Oct, 21). Inviting the audience on an inter-continental journey to the origins of human creativity, this new show blends expansive storytelling, innovative technology and international collaboration, taking them inside the real-life cave network containing the oldest graphic communication ever found.

Ewa Dina Welcomed As New Nouveau Riche Associate Director

ImagiNation Festival Launches Online

Theatre Centre, in collaboration with Theatre503, will present ImagiNation Festival, an exciting new online event, culminating their national storytelling project. Showcasing 19 short plays across three days, as well as live Q&As with the acclaimed writers, the Festival aims to broadcast a digital patchwork of the nation, using the recorded submissions from across the country to share a multitude of voices.

Casting Announced For QUEENS OF SHEBA Tour

This co-production presented by Nouveau Riché and Omnibus Theatre announces three new queens to star in the award-winning, critically-acclaimed play written by Jessica L. Hagan and adapted for the stage by Ryan Calais Cameron. Tosin Alabi (ROUNDHOUSE, UNICORN THEATRE ) Eshe Asante (CHANNEL 4: Humans, OVALHOUSE ) and Elisha Robin will join Koko Kwaku, who will be reprising her role for the national tour.
