Cast Announced For RETROGRADE at the Kiln Theatre

With Zadie Smith’s The Wife of Willesden about to transfer to the US, Kiln Theatre has announced the full cast for the world première of Ryan Calais Cameron’s new play based on a true event in the life of actor Sidney Poitier in 1950s Hollywood – Ian Bonar (Bobby), Ivanno Jeremiah (Sidney), and Daniel Lapaine (Mr Parks).

New Diorama & Underbelly Announce Relaunched Edinburgh Untapped Award

​​​​​​​New Diorama Theatre and Underbelly are announcing a renewed three-year partnership, relaunching their hit-making Untapped award, originally developed in 2018 and aimed at discovering and supporting emerging theatre makers at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. From 2023, Concord Theatricals also join the partnership, helping supercharge the support offered to diverse-led companies showcasing work at the Edinburgh Fringe.

With Zadie Smith's The Wife of Willesden currently running at the company's home base in Kilburn ahead of a transfer to the US, Kiln Theatre's Artistic Director Indhu Rubasingham has announced the world première of Ryan Calais Cameron's new play based on a true event in the life of actor Sidney Poitier in 1950s Hollywood.

The Royal Court Theatre and Nica Burns have announced that For Black Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When The Hue Gets Too Heavy by Ryan Calais Cameron will transfer to the Apollo Theatre in London’s West End for a limited run of six weeks only.

Paines Plough and Nouveau Riche to Present Five-Part Short Film Series WE RISE

Nouveau Riche and Paines Plough have announced We Rise, a free five-part series of short films shining a light on how to manoeuvre, cope and self-care against racism in the theatre sector. The films will be released weekly and readily available to everyone on Youtube, Instagram and Facebook with the first episode airing on Wednesday 16 November.
