Interview: Marika Aubrey Of COME FROM AWAY At Salle Wilfred Pelletier, Place Des Arts

Marika Aubrey was born and raised in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. She emigrated to the US six years ago and currently resides in New York City. She is currently on tour with COME FROM AWAY, portraying Captain Beverly Bass. I had the chance to chat with her about her life and career both on and off the stage.

Poet Luke Wright Tours Final Trilogy Play THE REMAINS OF LOGAN DANKWORTH in 2023

The Remains of Logan Dankworth is the third and final instalment of Luke Wright's trilogy of political verse plays. As we continue to discover the lingering legacy of Brexit, the play, set in 2016 as the referendum campaigns build, centres on themes of privilege and trust between married couples, between voters and politicians and trust and truth in the media.

Wiltshire Creative Announces Casting For Alan Ayckbourn's HOW THE OTHER HALF LOVES

Wiltshire Creative has announced full casting for their production of Alan Ayckbourn's How the Other Half Loves. Gareth Machin directs Sam Alexander (William Featherstone), Sherry Baines (Fiona Foster), Philip Bretherton (Frank Foster), and Rebecca Cooper (Mary Featherstone), Haydn Oakley (Bob Phillips), and Joanna van Kampen (Teresa Phillips).

RSC Opens Warm Hub at The Other Place

The Royal Shakespeare Company will run a Warm Hub in the foyer of The Other Place, home of the Company’s studio theatre, on Southern Lane in Stratford-upon-Avon, every Tuesday, 2-5pm between 10 January and 28 March.

Tanika Gupta Announced As Bush Theatre's New Writer In Residence

The Writer in Residence programme is part of the Bush Theatre's commitment to celebrating legacy and providing opportunities for writers at every level of their career. Following Trish Cooke's inaugural residency, which was followed last year by Vinay Patel, Tanika Gupta will support the Bush Theatre's literary and programming teams in 2023 by mentoring emerging artists, as well as writing a full-length play during her residency.

MATILDA THE MUSICAL Movie Reaches #2 on Netflix's Most-Watched Films List

Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical danced onto Netflix's most-watched films list in the #2 spot with 41.06M hours viewed. Starring Academy Award winner Emma Thompson as Miss Trunchbull and Alisha Weir as Matilda, the inspirational tale was in the Top 10 in 89 countries.

Stage and Screen Actor Stephen Greif Dies at Age 78

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that stage and screen actor Stephen Greif has died at age 78. His screen and stage career included appearances with the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company, among others.

Submissions Now Open For The RSC's Nationwide Playwriting Project

As the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) celebrates the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's First Folio in 2023, the Company today announced the opening of submissions for its new nationwide playwriting competition 37 Plays: an ambitious and ground-breaking new initiative open to anybody from anywhere in the UK.

2022 Year in Review: Franco Milazzo's Best of 2022

If 2020 was the year theatre ground to a halt and 2021 was when it nervously found its legs again (only to fall over occasionally), then 2022 was when it blasted back to some kind of normal with many pandemic-delayed shows finally seeing the inside of a venue.
