The Pemberley Plays Are Back via Zoom with Main Street Theater

This December Main Street Theater is bringing back the holiday favorites Miss Bennet and The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberley via live, staged readings on Zoom. Main Street has been offering the Pemberley plays - based on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice and written by acclaimed playwright Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon - for the last few seasons.

Día de Muertos Ohio and Cleveland Public Theatre (CPT) / Teatro Público de Cleveland (TPC) present the 16th Annual Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) Festival, a free, all-ages event created with safety as the highest priority. Día de Muertos is a vibrant cultural celebration for the whole family honoring the memory of those who have passed, and is a treasured holiday in Mexico and throughout Latin America. This year's activities, taking place on Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1, include indoor, outdoor, and virtual altar and cemetery presentations.

Regency romance is back for the holidays at Main Street Theater (MST) with Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon's The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberley-a companion piece to the duo's Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley which delighted Houston audiences at MST during the last 2 seasons. Both plays are set in the world of Jane Austen's popular novel, Pride and Prejudice. The Wickhams is all about what's happening downstairs in the servants' quarters while the actions of Miss Bennet were taking place upstairs!

The Kitchen Theatre Company is set to begin its 2019-2020 season with The Children by Lucy Kirkwood, a thought-provoking play that tackles the themes of mortality, consequence, and environmental legacy. Performances of The Children begin at the Kitchen Theatre Company in the Percy Browning Performance Space on September 8 and will run through September 29. And thanks to the support of an anonymous donor, all three preview performances (9/8, 9/10, and 9/11) will offer patrons the opportunity to 'Pay What You Want.'

The winner will claim a book-publishing contract with Absolutely Amazing eBooks, free Mystery Fest Key West 2019 registration, airfare, hotel accommodations for two nights and a Whodunit Award trophy to be presented at the 6th Annual Mystery Fest Key West, set for June 28-30 in Key West, Florida.

Main Street Theater provides theater experiences for all ages.  Founded in 1975, our MainStage produces professional, intimate, literary plays for adults; our Theater for Youth produces professional, engaging productions based on children's literature for families and school groups, both in-house and on tour around Texas; and we offer Education and Outreach programs on-site and at satellite locations around the Greater Houston area for youth aged 4 - high school.  We perform locally in 2 facilities: our Rice Village home on Times. Blvd., and as part of the MATCH (Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston) on Main Street.

Mercer County Artists Show Comes to MCCC Gallery

The talents of 21 Mercer County artists will be on display at the Gallery at Mercer County Community College (MCCC) in 'Mercer County Artists 2018,' which runs from Monday, May 21 to Monday, July 9. The Gallery at Mercer is located on the second floor of the Communications Building on Mercer's West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.
