For the first time in 21 months, Merrimack Repertory Theatre will return to The Nancy L. Donahue Theatre for indoor performances when it presents a world premiere holiday comedy, The Rise and Fall of Holly Fudge by Trista Baldwin, from November 26 to December 12, according to Artistic Director Courtney Sale and Executive Director Bonnie J. Butkas.

The Warner Theatre will welcome Peabo Bryson to the Main Stage on Friday, April 1, 2022, at 8 pm.

Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater are open this November with a full slate of nightly performances!  At Birdland Jazz Club, catch Bill Charlap Duets with Houston Person, Jon Faddis, Chris Potter and Ron Carter, Peter Cincotti, Jihye Lee Big Band, The Hot Sardines, and more.

Natalie Douglas was excited to be on stage. She was returning to Birdland Theater on Oct. 1, 2021 in 'Best of Tributes: The Women', with a show that sampled songs from tribute shows she had previously created for Dolly Parton, Nina Simone, and Roberta Flack. The award-winning performer was in excellent spirits as she came onto the stage and greeted the audience. Missing a cue at the beginning of the first song, she laughed it off, restarted, and dove into Dolly Parton's '9 to 5,' which was a perfectly exuberant and jaunty song to kick off the evening.

BIRDLAND THEATER will present Christina Bianco in her new show “A Lot to Unpack” on Friday, October 15 and Saturday, October 16 at 8:30 PM. Her bags are packed for London but before she leaves her hometown this globetrotting, genre-crossing, multi-voiced, multi-wig-wearing funny girl has some serious unpacking to do.

BAM R&B Festival returns for two weekends of free performances at Fort Greene Park, set for Saturdays and Sundays, October 2—3 and October 9—10. Circle Theatre, Grand Rapids' go-to destination for exceptional theatrical arts in an intimate setting, has announced their 70th Main Stage and Concert Series season.

Choreographer, director, and producer George Faison will receive the 2021 Bessie Award for Lifetime Achievement in Dance, and DanceAfrica, an annual celebration of African and African-American dance, music, and culture, will receive this year's award for Outstanding Service to the Field of Dance.

One can never be sure in this uncertain world - especially in show business - of how an acting career will look in hindsight; fortunately, along with all the power as a performer she packs into her slight 5’4” frame, this lady (as it turns out) is also a gifted from the gods songwriter. With more than half her show consisting of her own compositions, Kristolyn Lloyd showed all that she can combine her own poetry with beautiful notes and make songs that soar.

It's two seasons done for NiCori Studios smash-hit concert series, and they are taking it out in style with shows by three of the industry's biggest names and talents.

NiCori Studios & Productions will present this season's final three Music At The Mansion: PORCH PERFORMANCES on Saturday, September 4, starring Celia Berk, Saturday, September 18, starring Natalie Douglas and Saturday, September 25, starring Corinna Sowers Adler.

Merrimack Repertory Theatre will continue its 2021-22 Season with Allison Gregory's Wild Horses, a woman's hilarious account of one wild summer in her youth, from September 17 through October 3 at various alternative locations and via video on demand, according to Nancy L. Donahue Artistic Director Courtney Sale and Executive Director Bonnie J. Butkas.

The Hollywood Bowl audience, filled with theatre aficionados and people with an appreciation for great singing, got their money’s worth and much more with a full-bodied, whole-hearted concert performance by the incredible Cynthia Erivo. Cynthia’s powerful vocals backed by her raw, genuine emotions ignited all her cover versions of other women’s definitive classics making them all distinctly her own.

Many women, when they are 8 months pregnant are beginning to think about curtailing their strenuous work activities, concentrating on decorating a nursery, or buying baby clothes and supplies. Her idea of “taking it easy” involves putting on a pretty dress, and heels, yet, and opening a show at 54 Below. That show, ALL THE FEELS is about this particular transformational moment in her life. Her show is about all the things she loves, which have now taken on new significance because shortly she will get to share them all with a brand new baby boy. After so many bittersweet shows about surviving the pandemic, it is a breath of fresh air to see a show that is so full of hope and joy.

The season will include the world premiere of The Rise and Fall of Holly Fudge by Trista Baldwin, a new concert of Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway classics, the East Coast premiere of Best Summer Ever, and two productions that were postponed due to the pandemic.

The MV Concert Series announced another round of top touring musicians that will be performing at the Loft on Martha's Vineyard. Martin Sexton, Badfish, moe., Dwight and Nicole, and Dalton & The Sheriffs join a packed lineup at the Loft, which includes acts like Livingston Taylor, Joan Osborne and Ripe. The moe. shows will be a special Beach Road Weekend after party.

Bunny Hull, Grammy Award winner and Founder and Executive Director of Dream a World Education will be inducted into the Women Songwriters Hall of Fame in a ceremony on June 25 at the Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C.

It’s hard to pinpoint the proper musical label for Zen Brother. The closest I can come would be to call their style ‘“jazz fusion.”  Although what the jazz is being fused with changes from piece to piece. The set I heard contained influences from salsa, funk, R & B, swing, and New Age. And despite their moniker, zen is not really accurate. They are exciting and lively and full of energy.

 As Pennsylvania loosened its Covid-19 mask mandate and other restrictions, and the CDC revised its guidelines, Bucks County Playhouse has announced a measured approach in the short term for the reopening of the theater as it continues to welcome back audiences.
