The Met has announced themed lineups for the next two weeks of its Nightly Met Opera Streams, a free series of encore Live in HD presentations and classic telecasts streamed on the company's website during the coronavirus closure. The schedule includes an Operatic Comedies week, and a Politics in Opera week, the week before Election Day.

The Met has announced a specially-curated, three-week schedule for its Nightly Met Opera Streams, a free series of encore Live in HD presentations and classic telecasts streamed on the company website during the coronavirus closure. The schedule includes an All-Verdi week, a 20th-Century Classics week, and an All-French week.

The Met has announced the Week 15 schedule for its Nightly Met Opera Streams, a free series of encore Live in HD presentations streamed on the company website during the coronavirus closure. Highlights include the Met's classic 1991 telecast of Donizetti's L'Elisir d'Amore, with Kathleen Battle and Luciano Pavarotti, John Adams's Doctor Atomic starring Gerald Finley, and Massenet's Manon, with Lisette Oropesa in the title role. 

The Met on Demand had another week of exciting performances, from the divine [Rossini's IL  BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA] to the, well, the divine [Adams's NIXON IN CHINA].

Tickets will go on sale Monday, March 9,2020 for Meadow Brook Theatre's 13th annual Children's Series, beginning in February 2021.

The Capitol Congressional staffers turned comedians,  famed comedy troupe composed ofSteps, will perform Make America Grin Again at the Montalvo Arts Center. Called 'an oasis of good-natured ribbing in a fiercely partisan world' by The Washington Post, the Capitol Steps have slayed the country with their hilarious send-up of the people and institutions that once employed them. Their sketch and improvisational comedy offers a mix of song and standup, lampooning modern political leaders, and tackling major current issues. The Valentine's edition of It's Improvised at the 129! focuses on the theme of love as the Central Florida theater community explores the rewards and challenges of couples that are both performers. This month's special guests include couples Jamie and Daryl Black, Gina and John Hunter, Jodi Chase and John Pelky, Tiffany Anthony & Lucindo Teixeira, as well as Alexandra Love Sarton, owner of the COAL Space. Each of the couples have improvised and/or acted individually and together at such venues as SAK Comedy Lab, Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and at independent performance spaces throughout Central Florida. Alex Love Sarton also performs as an improviser and singer and leads meditation and enlightenment sessions focused on the beauty and love of life.

Orlando's local improv and comedy scene will be in the spotlight as the 2019 season of It's Improvised at the 129! Hosted by Four First Names kicks off on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 8:00 p.m. at Dragonfly Studio 129 in Downtown Ocoee.  This month's special guests include Central Florida improv teams The Audacity, Kombustible S'mores and Mama's Comedy Club. 

San Francisco Opera presents Richard Strauss' Arabella in five performances at the War Memorial Opera House from October 16 through November 3. Last performed by the Company 20 years ago, Arabella returns in Tim Albery's acclaimed production with leading Strauss interpreter Marc Albrecht, making his United States opera debut on the podium. The cast features soprano Ellie Dehn performing the title role for the first time, baritone Brian Mulligan in his role debut as Mandryka, soprano Heidi Stober as Zdenka, tenor Daniel Johansson in his first San Francisco Opera engagement as Matteo and Hye Jung Lee as the Fiakermilli. Company Chorus Director Ian Robertson prepares the San Francisco Opera Chorus.
