Montalvo Arts Center Presents THE CAPITOL STEPS: MAKE AMERICA GRIN AGAIN

The Capitol Congressional staffers turned comedians, famed comedy troupe composed ofSteps, will perform Make America Grin Again at the Montalvo Arts Center. Called "an oasis of good-natured ribbing in a fiercely partisan world" by The Washington Post, the Capitol Steps have slayed the country with their hilarious send-up of the people and institutions that once employed them. Their sketch and improvisational comedy offers a mix of song and standup, lampooning modern political leaders, and tackling major current issues. No issue or public figure, Democrat or Republican, can escape this satire. The Capitol Steps will be performing Make America Grin Again 3:00pm & 7:00pm, Sunday, April 14 at the Montalvo Arts Center, 15400 Montalvo Rd., Saratoga. Politics Takes a radio Holiday . The Capitol Steps have been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS, and can be heard twice a year on National Public Radio stations nationwide during their Make America Grin Againbegan as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the people and places that employed them. Since the group formed in 1981, they have recorded over 35 albums including their latest, The Capitol Steps specials.

Members of The Capitol Steps are: Brian Ash, Jon Bell, Bari Biern, Mike Carruthers, Evan Casey, Jenny Corbett, Kevin Corbett, Nancy Dolliver, Morgan Duncan, Marc Eaton, Janet Davidson Gordon, Brad Van Grack, Corey Harris, Prince Havely, Anne Willis Hill, Emily Levey, Elaina Newport, Richard Paul, Jack Rowles, Ann Schmitt, Tracey Stephens, Mike Thorton, Dolores Williams, and Jamie Zemarel. The group's pianists Members of The Capitol Stepsare: Howard Breitbart, Marc Irwin, David Kane, Emily Bell Spitz, and Lenny Williams.

For nearly 60 years, Montalvo Arts Center's Carriage House Theatre Concert Series has presented world-class talent in an intimate indoor setting, becoming a treasured series for performing arts fans in Silicon Valley. Housed in the 316-seat Claire Loftus Carriage House Theatre, the series features a diverse array of artists from a variety of genres from classical to jazz to R&B, rock, plus theatre, comedy, and more. Guests have the option to arrive early and mingle in Montalvo's Project Space ArtBar, where wine, beer, and other beverages are available for purchase before the show.
