Rising singer-songwriter and Sire/Warner Bros. recording artist Regina Spektor will join playwright / director Tina Landau (Floyd Collins) and lyricist Michael Korie (Grey Gardens) to create the new musical BEAUTY, to be produced by Elephant Eye Theatrical (Stuart Oken, Michael Leavitt, Five Cent Productions), aiming for the 2011-12 Broadway season, following an out-of-town tryout to be announced. Landau will write the book and direct; Spektor the music, and Korie the lyrics.
Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth and several noted performers will duet with Grammy Award-winning violinist Joshua Bell on his new CD, 'At Home with Friends.'
Alternative Baroque-pop songwriter Soren Anders will be performing at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher St, NYC) on April 20, 2009 at 7:30pm. The event, benefitting the Church of St. Luke in the Fields, is hosted by Robyn Cradles and Deryck Todd, and will also feature the rock act Dandy Pants, among others.
