There has been a lot of news swirling around stage to screen adaptations in the past few weeks, from Lin-Manuel Miranda directing a TICK, TICK... BOOM! movie, to Diane Paulus directing NBC's HAIR LIVE!, and this Friday, the Disney Channel original movie of the FREAKY FRIDAY musical will premiere.

Broadway director and writer Gordon Greenberg has revised the book for Meet Me In St. Louis at The Muny. Performances began August 4 and will run until August 12. This production, the 8th in Muny history, will also include several songs new to the stage adaptation of Meet Me In St. Louis, including 'Boys and Girls Like You and Me,' a song written by Rodgers & Hammerstein for Oklahoma! and then recorded for, but ultimately cut, from the film of Meet Me In St. Louis. This production will also include the first stage use of 'You and I,' a song in the film by Nacio Herb Brown and Arthur Freed.

This summer's LIVE IN CONCERT film choice Beauty & the Beast brought together a wonderful mix of theatre, television and film talents to sing live along with the live orchestra deftly led by musical director Michael Kosarin as the animated 1991 film Beauty & the Beast played on the accompanying big screens. Zooey Deschanel made for a perfect Belle with her innocence, vulnerability and her striking vocals. Kelsey Grammer IS Lumiere...

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rebel Wilson is joining Sam Rockwell and Scarlett Johansson in director Taika Waititi's Nazi Germany satire Jojo Rabbit.

The animated classic Disney's 'Beauty and the Beast' will be given new life for two special evenings at the Hollywood Bowl. Marissa Jaret Winokur joins the all-star cast as The Wardrobe, get a sneak peek at her performance of a cut song below!

Previews begin May 18, with the press opening scheduled for Thursday, May 24. Performances will continue through June 24 at Atwater Village Theatre.
