The plays Outside Mullingar and The Father are getting the feature film treatment, and The Prom and The Boys and the Band are headed to Netflix!

YouTube today announced that all of its forthcoming original series and specials will soon be available for fans around the world to watch for free with ads- just like they enjoy everything else on the platform. In addition, YouTube unveiled a new and returning slate of original series and specials focused on music, learning and personalities that will all be free with ads, including seasons 1 and 2 of “Cobra Kai” beginning this fall. The announcements were made on stage today at YouTube's annual Brandcast event by Chief Business Officer Robert Kyncl.

Netflix and Treehouse Pictures reunite Zoey Deutch, Glen Powell and writer/producer Katie Silberman in a new romantic comedy, tentatively titled Most Dangerous Game, set to go into production in early 2020

Working Title has announced that production has wrapped at Leavesden Studios in Hertfordshire, UK for the big screen adaptation of Cats, which is set to hit theatres on December 20, 2019!

In the biggest news of the month, it has just been confirmed that Glenn Close will star in a Rob Ashford-directed film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard, which is set to begin shooting this October! It was also announced that a film adaptation of One Man, Two Guvnors is on the way. Both Lion King and Aladdin released new TV spots and Idris Elba talked about the upcoming Cats film!

Idris Elba is gearing up for the upcoming Cats film, in which he will play the role of Macavity. He recently chatted with Variety at a screening of his new Netflix series, Turn Up Charlie, about the film and what it was like working with Taylor Swift.

The Lyric Hammersmith today announces the cast for the worldwide hit production of Ghost Stories, which runs 29 March - 11 May 2019. Written by Jeremy Dyson (The League of Gentleman) and Andy Nyman (Fiddler on the Roof, Derren Brown: Mind Control and Trick of the Mind) the show returns to the Lyric Hammersmith 9 years since its premiere in 2010. Also announced today are the Lyric's new Friday Film Nights with four horror film screenings, especially chosen by Andy Nyman and Jeremy Dyson, shown in the Lyric's intimate 54 seat cinema on Friday nights during the run of Ghost Stories.

From YouTube and Laugh Out Loud, the second season of YouTube Original series KEVIN HART: WHAT THE FIT launches today, February 7th, 2019, on Kevin's LOL Network on YouTube.  The first episode features Rebel Wilson alongside Kevin as they attempt to learn karate. Created by Hart, Matt Kunitz, David Shumsky and Rebecca Shumsky Quinn in association with Lionsgate, the series will continue to merge ridiculous workouts with hilarious special guest celebrity appearances throughout all 10 episodes.
