From January 17 – April 21, 2020, YAMATO: The Drummers of Japan bring their “show of unbridled enthusiasm, much humour and great musical variety” (The Scotsman) to North America for a 40-city tour of JHONETSU – PASSION! This marks the Taiko troupe's 26th season, celebrating over 4,000 performances in 54 countries and reaching nearly 8 million people.

The Parsnip Ship announced today its first cohort of its newly created Radio Roots Writers' Group. The Radio Roots Writers' Group is a group facilitated by The Parsnip Ship (TPS) to support emerging playwrights interested in re-engaging with playwriting through audio-focused storytelling, breaking away from traditional forms of visual storytelling. Much like all programming on The Parsnip Ship's platform, Radio Roots seeks to cultivate distinct new theater artists. The first cohort will include playwrights: Amara Brady, Gina Femia, Jessie DeBruin and Nina Ki.

FUTURE MUSIC PROJECT Brings Teen Musicians From New York City Together At Carnegie Hall

Throughout the season, New York City teens come together each week to write, produce, and perform original music across genres with their peers and learn from leading artists through Future Music Project, a vibrant creative community based out of Carnegie Hall's Resnick Education Wing. Future Music Project includes weekly afterschool workshops on songwriting and digital music production and a sampler pack exploring basic musicianship, recording, and songwriting. The faculty is comprised of leading professional musicians, producers, technicians, and DJs who are active in New York's vibrant music scenes. Weekly workshops are free, and lunch and a roundtrip MetroCard are provided at every workshop. Future Music Project also takes place offsite for young people in the justice system.

Stage Left, a new documentary web series about theatre and community created by Ashley Marinaccio announces its first full season to launch in January 2020. Stage Left examines the impact of theatre and performance on local communities and introduces viewers to the performances, artists, theatre-makers, and communities that are creating work in places that go largely unnoticed by the mainstream. Each episode of Stage Left investigates a theatre company, performance tradition or performative ritual that is actively using theatre to engage, challenge and inspire their own communities.
Hannah Tointon Will Join The West End Cast Of WAITRESS; Lucie Jones Extends

Waitress today announces television star Hannah Tointon, as seen in The Inbetweeners, Mr Selfridge and Hollyoaks, will be joining the West End company from 2 December in the role of Dawn. She will take over from Laura Baldwin who will mark her final performance on 30 November. Waitress is also delighted to announce that Lucie Jones, who has been wowing audiences in the lead role of Jenna since taking over earlier this summer, will extend performances in the smash hit musical through to 25 January 2020.

Luna Stage's World Premiere production of Mrs. Stern Wanders the Prussian State Library opens this Saturday, October 19, at 8pm. Founder and Academic Director of the Hannah Arendt Center for Politics and Humanities Roger Berkowitz, playwright Jenny Lyn Bader, director Ari Laura Kreith, and assistant director Chris Kuiken will join the audience for post-show conversations during the first two weekends of Mrs. Stern Wanders the Prussian State Library at Luna Stage. A discussion about the graphic novel The Three Escapes of Hannah Arendt: A Tyranny of Truth by Ken Krimstein will also precede one performance.
