Joe Hanrahan’s direction tells an effective and entertaining story despite an unbalanced script that has many flaws. Strong performances build a dramatic tension that is as thick as the humid summer Italian air. This story is packed with plenty of emotional instability and raw emotion, but at times is plagued by scripted character choices that seem disingenuous to the characters central narrative.

East Nashville-based singer-songwriter Derek Hoke has announced that his new album Electric Mountain will be released via 3Sirens Music Group, the first release from the Music City collective 3Sirens’ label arm. Hoke has also just shared his new single “Wild and Free,” a blend of acoustic guitar and synthesizers that arrives with a music video.

The legendary Duplex Cabaret and Piano Bar, at 61 Christopher Street, suffered a fire in the upper part of the building, causing a subsequent power outage, shutting down the venue for several days. On July 6, the Duplex reopened its cafe and piano bar, but the upstairs and cabaret areas remain closed until further notice.

CHAIN THEATRE will present the world premiere production of Sophie McIntosh's (Ipswich) macbitches, directed by Ella Jane New (Six Corners). macbitches will play a limited engagement at Chain Theatre. Performances begin Friday, August 19 and continue through Saturday, September 10. Opening Night is Sunday, August 21 (3 p.m.). 

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Robyn Hurder will miss upcoming performances of A Beautiful Noise due to testing positive for COVID-19. Robyn took to Instagram to share the unfortunate news, where she also stated that she will return to the production on July 20th.

On July 22, their most recent season concludes with a production of HANK WILLIAMS: LOST HIGHWAY in their home space, the historic Pelzer Auditorium.
