The National Tour of The Prom is here in Minneapolis this week from April 12th to April 17th at the Orpheum Theatre. The Prom won the 2019 Drama Desk Award Winner for Outstanding musical.

Prince Edward County’s Festival Players has announced today the lineup for their 2022 summer season. Presented by BMO and Huff Estates and running from June 29 to September 4, the season brings an expansive lineup of theatre, dance, comedy and music to the heart of PEC at one of The County’s most iconic venues – The Eddie Hotel and Farm.

Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School & Camp is the longest running performing arts camp in the country! Founded in 1913, the list of past students and faculty is long, and includes everyone from Julie Harris to Jessica Biel, Stephen Schwartz to Corey Hawkins. 

Checking out the pedigree in the Playbill for SISTER ACT, which is presented by Praeclara and Wildwood Park for the Arts, 20919 Denny Rd, in Little Rock, I knew we were all in for a treat, but...WOW! The pipes on these performers are astounding. The talent is so great in this cast, I think it seeps out the lobby doors and makes the flowers bloom along the trails surrounding the Cabe Festival Theatre. It is that good. And according to my fellow audience members, 'fun' was the adjective most used while exiting the theatre....and it was. I loved the chemistry among the distinct groups, I loved the cohesiveness with the entire production, and did I mention the music-singing and musicians-were off the charts?!

The Stratford Festival held its annual general meeting today, reflecting on a season of accomplishments in the midst of the global pandemic, and reporting a surplus of $553,058, thanks to strong support from donors and government.

First Stage will present the world premiere production of THE AMAZING LEMONADE GIRL, written by award-winning playwright/author, First Stage Resident Playwright and Wisconsin actor James DeVita and directed by First Stage alum and Northern Sky Associate Artistic Director Molly Rhode.

On Easter Sunday, April 17, Seán Boulware will return to Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage under the auspices of MidAmerica Productions to conduct Mark Hayes' Gloria. Joining him onstage are vocal soloists Sydney Kucine, soprano; Jenni Bank, mezzo-soprano; Joseph Sacchi, tenor; and Erik Earl Larsen, baritone.

Blackfriars Theatre continues its 2022 season with a heartwarming story about kindness and doing good in the world, featuring a talented cast led by two young performers from Rochester's School of the Arts.

Saturday, March 26th at 8pm ET, the Spring 2022 season of Queens Theatre's popular play reading series New American Voices (NAV), will continue with 'AS I WAS NOT AS I AM' by Alice Hakvaag.

And while that is one of the true musical highlights of Summer – The Donna Summer Musical, it also focuses attention on the fact that the musical itself – or, rather, its problematic book – often seems unable to figure out how to focus the spotlight on its heroine. Taking a non-linear pathway through the story of the diva’s life, Summer – The Donna Summer Musical is oftentimes confusing and sometimes perplexing, despite the fact that the musical score (attributed to Summer, Giorgio Moroder, Paul Jabara and “others” in the playbill) is wonderfully entertaining and certain to unleash a flood of memories for audience members of a certain vintage.
