GatherNYC Continues Weekly Sunday Morning Concerts with Grace Park & Jenny Lin

The revolutionary concert series GatherNYC continues its mindful musical mornings this Sunday with winner of the 2018 Naumburg International Violin Competition Grace Park, and continues the following Sunday with pianist Jenny Lin, described by The Washington Post as 'surely one of the most interesting pianists in America right now'. Concerts take place at 11am at SubCulture, with doors at 10:30 for complimentary coffee, pastry and community. 

Kronos Quartet Launches New Dedicated 'Fifty For The Future' Website

Kronos Quartet/Kronos Performing Arts Association (KPAA) announces the launch of a new website for Fifty for the Future: The Kronos Learning Repertoire, the San Franciscoa?"based nonprofit's ongoing multi-year commissioning, performance, education and legacy initiative. Designed and developed by the San Francisco design and storytelling company First Person, the site provides a gateway to discover, explore and learn contemporary string quartets composed by 25 women and 25 men from around the world. The free digital learning library currently contains 30 scores and parts, recordings and supplemental learning materials. When completed, this collection will feature 50 new pieces. Launched in 2015 with Lead Partner Carnegie Hall, the initial scores have been downloaded more than 14,000 times in 88 countries and territories worldwide.

PSO Salutes 10 Years With Maestro Milanov With The Next 10! Campaign

At Sunday's All Mozart concert, the Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) saluted ten years with Maestro Rossen Milanov at the helm by announcing the public phase of The Next 10! - a campaign celebrating Milanov's 10th anniversary while building a dynamic future for the orchestra. Funds raised through the campaign will support the PSO's current and future initiatives as it continues to move forward as an integral, innovative presence on Princeton's arts scene.

ANOTHER LOOK AT MEMORY Comes to The Coronet Theatre

One of France's most acclaimed choreographers of recent years, Thomas Lebrun has been the Artistic Director at the Centre chorégraphique national de Tours since 2012. He has danced with France's leading companies and developed a theatrical style of his own. The Coronet Theatre is delighted to welcome him on his first visit to London with the UK Premiere of Another look at memory.

Japan Society Presents KWAIDAN

As part of Japan Society's 2019-2020 Performing Arts Season, the Society proudly presents a dynamic performance of Japan's scariest ghost stories from Kwaidan, a collection of Japanese folktales by writer Lafcadio Hearn. In this one night only event, acclaimed actor Shiro Sano brings selections from Hearn's tales to life, accompanied by visuals as well powerful live music by distinguished guitarist Kyoji Yamamoto, sharing with audiences a glimpse of Hearn's open-minded view of Japan and the world. Commencing the live performance, folklorist Bon Koizumi, Hearn's great-grandson and Director of the Lafcadio Hearn Memorial Museum in Matsue, Japan, will give a short lecture on the writer's relevance today. Kwaidana?"Call of Salvation Heard from the Depths of Fear takes place Thursday, October 24 at 7:30pm at Japan Society (333 East 47th Street).

Sufjan Stevens to Release Score for Justin Peck's Ballet 'The Decalogue'

Oscar- and Grammy-nominated composer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Sufjan Stevens will release his acclaimed score for Justin Peck's ballet The Decalogue October 18 via his own label, AKR. Performed by the pianist Timo Andres, the recording is the first time the score, premiered during the New York City Ballet's 2017 season, is available to the public.

The Dessoff Choirs Begins Its 2019-20 Season on October 26

Hailed as a?oeone of the great amateur choruses of our timea?? (New York Today) for its a?oefull-bodied sound and supplenessa?? (The New York Times), the 50-member Dessoff Choirs begins its 2019-20 season highlighting choral works by esteemed composers of the 19th and 20th centuries. Featuring full orchestra, and soloists Laquita Mitchell (soprano) and Donovan Singletary (baritone), the program is centered around the original 1893 version of Gabriel Fauré's Requiem, the composer's masterpiece. Complementing the Requiem is Ich lasse dich nicht, a motet attributed to J.S. Bach, William Schuman's evocative Prelude for Voices, and the a?oeKyriea?? from Louis Vierne's Messe solennelle.

CreArtBox Opens season with soloists Guillermo Laporta, Josefina Urraca and Parhelion Trio
