Laguna Playhouse and Lythgoe Family Productions have announced that Sally Struthers will star as “Madame Gothel” in the world premiere of RAPUNZEL AND HER HOLIDAY WISH, written by Kris Lythgoe, directed by Becky Lythgoe, supervising director is Bonnie Lythgoe, choreography by Becca Sweitzer and musical direction by Andy Street. 

Ojai Playwrights Conference has announced the full roster of artists for its 27th Annual New Works Festival to be held August 1 - 4 in Ojai, CA.

James G. Hirsch & Robert A. Papazian’s Love Among the Ruins begins its limited engagement at the El Portal Theatre October 8, 2023 (with previews starting October 6th). Michael Arabian directs the stellar cast of JoBeth Williams and Peter Strauss. After decades in successful careers in television, Love Among the Ruins marks James and Robert’s initial foray into theatre.

JoBeth Williams (“Poltergeist,” “The Big Chill”) and Peter Strauss (“Rich Man, Poor Man,” “The Jericho Mile”) star in the romantic Love Among the Ruins, written by James G. Hirsch and Robert A. Papazian, from a film script by James Costigan. Love Among the Ruins is a Papazian Hirsch presentation  and is directed by Michael Arabian.

Sypher Studios have announced its upcoming documentary, War Unfolding, narrated by four-time Oscar nominee Annette Bening and featuring an all-star cast including Eliza Bennett, Rachel Bloom, Gary Cole, Abigail Cowen, Oscar-winner Laura Dern, Monique Edwards, SAG Award winner Michael C. Hall, SAG Award winner Kelvin Harrison Jr., Golden Globe winner Paul Walter Hauser, Thurn Hoffman, Richard T. Peter graciously found some time between rehearsals and his orange farm to answer a few of my queries.

Music composer, pianist Michele Brourman is world reknowned for her brilliant compositions and collaborations with other great songwriters like Amanda McBroom. She has a tremendous passion for performing. She will be in Chicago on the 15th and in New York in October doing what she does best. The world is a better place because of it.

The Ojai Playwrights Conference is announcing the cast for a?oeWAKE UP! Combating Climate Change,a?? one of two special Intersection Events being presented as part of the 2019 New Works Festival of new play readings and special performance events (August 4--11).

In mid-November, theater lovers gathered at The Players in New York City for the launch of Bucks County Playhouse's new Play Discovery Reading Series. The debut of the new series featured a benefit reading of Bruce Graham's "The Outgoing Tide" directed by Marsha Mason and starring Mason, Peter Strauss ("Rich Man, Poor Man") and Michael Nathanson (Netflix's "The Punisher" and BCP's "Chapter Two"). Victor Slezak ("Blue Bloods") provided narration.

Audiences will have a chance to experience both lesser known classic plays and new works when Bucks County Playhouse launches its Play Discovery Series with a reading of 'The Outgoing Tide' by Philadelphia playwright Bruce Graham on November 14 at 7:30 p.m. Directed by four-time Oscar nominee, Marsha Mason, 'The Outgoing Tide' is the first of several plays that will be part of the series for which Mason also serves as curator.  Additional titles will be announced shortly.

In honor of the 100th year of Veterans Day and the fifth anniversary of the founding of the Center for American War Letters at Chapman University, the play If All the Sky Were Paper is coming home to Chapman's Musco Center for the Arts stage for a special Veteran's Day performance on Saturday, November 10 at 7:30pm.

The Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE, Local 800) Film Society and American Cinematheque present a special screening of Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone 3D (1983) followed by a unique tribute to the original Production Designer Jackson De Govia, ADG, and two original creative collaborators. This screening is presented in conjunction with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's 3D: Double Vision exhibit, a celebration of 3-D films, objects and practices running at LACMA through March 2019. It concludes the 2018 ADG Film Society Screening Series entitled 'Production Design: Designers on Design,' sponsored by The Hollywood Reporter.
