Spring 2019 at Northern Stage features ambitious new productions made in Newcastle, alongside new shows from some of the UK's most exciting and innovative theatre companies and work made by and for children and young people. Plus comedy, dance and an eclectic programme in the intimate Stage 3 performance space.

Featuring *Harlin C. Kearsley, Victoria Ric, Tomo Lovric, *Paul Albe and Alison Blair, the play deals with a dysfunctional family of misfit scientists navigating grief and belonging whilst they search for a whale lost in space.

English Touring Theatre today announces full tour dates for Ned Bennett's bold new production of Peter Shaffer's critically-acclaimed classic, psychological thriller Equus in a co-production with Theatre Royal Stratford East. The production opens at Theatre Royal Stratford East on 21 February, with previews from 15 February and runs until 23 March. Following this it tours to Cambridge Arts Theatre, Theatre Royal Bath, Bristol Old Vic, The Lowry, Northern Stage and Yvonne Arnaud Theatre.

The Masquerade Theatre Company presents AMADEUS, by Peter Shaffer, running from Oct. 19 to Oct. 26.

Two Santa Barbara theatre companies have joined forces to produce WOMEN FORWARD, two plays in rep that celebrate the lives of strong, intelligent women. This dual production, created in collaboration between DramaDogs, A Theater Company and Dogstar Theater Company, includes Edward Albee's drama THREE TALL WOMEN and Peter Shaffer's comedy, LETTICE AND LOVAGE. Both plays, produced in rep, focus on the empowerment of the female-not in response to male animosity, but as a function of the natural female experience. Directed by DramaDogs' Ken Gilbert and Dogstar's Nita June Davanzo, these two companies will share the stage at Center Stage Theater September 7th-16th.

Amadeus, produced by the Masquerade Theatre Company, is set to open at the Teatru Manoel October 19 before closing October 28, 2018. 

Northrop announces its 2018-19 Film Series, featuring several Oscar-winning films and diverse artistic voices from around the world. 

The Resident Ensemble Players, under the artistic direction of Sanford Robbins, is entering its tenth anniversary season and expanding its season offerings to seven shows. Included this season is a World Premiere from the REP's very own resident actor (and one of Aisle Say's favorites), Michael Gotch, and a newly reworked play by Theresa Rebeck.

On The Quays, a New York City based production company aimed at producing works that promote inclusivity, has announced it will present the world premiere production of Gary Duggan's STOP/OVER, a swift new play about rekindled friendship, as part of the 2018 Dublin Fringe Festival. Directed by Nicola Murphy, and supported by The Arts Council of Ireland,FringeLab, and The Lir Academy, The Production will run September 12th-23rd on the third floor of The Chocolate Factory (26 Kings Inn Street).

Maxime Quiroga will join the cast of the Mozart and Salieri when it returns by popular demand to the Artscape Opera House stage on 24 August for a limited season. Quiroga joins a stellar Cape Town City Ballet cast lead by Martin Milner as Mozart, Daniel Szybkowski and Ivan Boonzaier as Salieri and ballerinas Laura Bosenberg and Mariette Opperman as Constanze.

After a hugely successful premiere season in February this year, Mozart & Salieri returns to the Artscape Opera House by popular demand from 24 August to 1 September 2018. The sumptuous adaptation of Alexander Puskin's short story, choreographed by Marc Goldberg, will once again be presented by Cape Town City Ballet (CTCB), for only six performances. The two act production drips in glamour, intrigue and innovation with ground-breaking digitized set design, exquisite costuming and powerful dancing, all set to Mozart's celebrated compositions.

Directors include NJ Agwuna, David Kahawaii, Phoebe Padget, and Lillian Meredith. The festival is co-curated and co-produced by Sean Pollock. The Donmar Warehouse today announces the appointment of Michael Longhurst as its new Artistic Director from March 2019, with his first programming to begin in mid 2019.

Artistic Director of Theatre Royal Stratford East, Nadia Fall, today announces Lenny Henry to take on the role of Elmore in August Wilson's King Hedley II as part of her inaugural season. This marks the first time Wilson's work will be staged at Theatre Royal Stratford East.
