The Original Broadway Cast Recording of Water for Elephants will be released on Friday, May 17. The first two singles, “Wild” and “Silver Stars,” are available today, Friday, April 26.

Goodspeed Musicals announced today that it will produce the world premiere of Christmas in Connecticut – A New Musical this holiday season at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Conn.

Get the scoop on the new musical, based on the 1997 cult classic, Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, is written by the film’s screenwriter, Robin Schiff, features a thrilling new score by Gwendolyn Sanford and Brandon Jay (“Orange is the New Black”), choreography by Peggy Hickey (Anastasia), scenic design by Scott Pask (Waitress, Mean Girls) and is directed by Kristin Hanggi (Broadway's Rock of Ages).

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Romy and Michele, previously titled Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, will get a workshop next week, starring Cortney Wolfson (Romy), Stephanie Renee Wall (Michele), Jordan Kai Burnett (Heather Mooney), and Hannah Schuerman (Toby Walters).

SISTER ACT, the Musical, the Tony Award nominated show based on the 1992 Touchstone Pictures hit film of the same name, features music written by eight-time Academy Award, seven-time Golden Globe, 11-time Grammy Award and Tony Award-winning composer, Alan Menken, with lyrics by Glenn Slater and Book by Cheri Steinkellner and Bill Steinkellner, with additional book material by Douglas Carter Beane, The musical was originally directed by Peter Schneider. The musical will be coming to CASA 0101 Theater, 2102 East First Street (at St. Louis Street), Boyle Heights, CA 90033, April 19 - May 19, 2019. Opening Nights is Friday, April 19, 2019 at 8:00 p.m. Previews are April 12 - 14, 2019.
