Broadway’s Best Shows is proud to present the third season of Spotlight on Plays, a starry series of livestream readings of Broadway’s best plays to benefit The Actors Fund. 

Westport Country Playhouse has announced an all-virtual 2021 Season, featuring two productions- a new comedy and a Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning drama; two archival productions recorded in HD video; and four Script in Hand play readings.  

Keen Company Artistic Director Jonathan Silverstein today announced the World Premiere of a newly commissioned audio play All We Need Is Us by playwright James Anthony Tyler, beginning Friday March 26th at 7pm EDT for FREE on podcasting apps like Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, TuneIn, and more.

New Federal Theatre Celebrates Women's History Month with an online readings series.

Jeffrey Richards has just announced Broadway’s Best Shows, a home for entertaining, engaging content, long form features and exclusive access to Broadway’s Best, will continue its “Spotlight on Plays” series this spring on Thursday, March 25, 2021 to benefit The Actors Fund.

On March 13 and 20, 2021 New York's New Federal Theatre (NFT) will present 'New Federal Theatre Celebrates Women's History Month,' a retrospective readings series in which significant plays from the '80s on generational issues in Black women's lives will be recreated by noted actors and directors.  The readings will be free and accessible from NFT's website, https://www.newfederaltheatre.com. Donations will be gratefully accepted.

In celebration of International Women's Day, Disney on Broadway announces free registration, programming, and participants for the 4th annual 'Women's Day on Broadway' virtual event on Friday, March 12, 2021, beginning at 1 pm EST. 

Keen Company is continuing its 2020-’21 Season with the benefit broadcast of The Year of Magical Thinking adapted from Joan Didion’s best-selling memoir and starring Kathleen Chalfant in a one-woman tour de force performance.

Keen Company announced the World Premiere of a newly commissioned audio play by acclaimed playwright Pearl Cleage: Digging in the Dark takes listeners to a moonless night on a wooded estate outside Atlanta, where a woman awaits her scheming brother’s arrival.

The Alliance Theatre today announced updates to its 2020/21 season, including a new “Under The Tent” series to provide more socially-distanced performance options.  The “Under the Tent” series will include a concert staging of the Broadway hit WORKING: A MUSICAL, as well as concert-style performances of BEAUTIFUL BLACKBIRD LIVE and more.

The Alliance Theatre’s first-ever animated feature, SIT-IN, is available for streaming now on Alliance Theatre Anywhere.  Written by Atlanta's bestselling author, playwright, and civil rights activist, Pearl Cleage (Blues for An Alabama Sky, Tell Me My Dream) this original animated special for family audiences celebrates the power of youth to change history.

The fall season of “Spotlight on Plays” concludes with Robert O’Hara’s BARBECUE on Thursday, December 10 at 8PM EST/ 5PM PST. The company stars Carrie Coon, Colman Domingo, Kimberly Hébert Gregory, Annie McNamara, S. Epatha Merkerson, Tony award winner Laurie Metcalf, David Morse, Kristine Nielsen, Tamberla Perry and Heather Simms.

On Tuesday, December 15 at 8pm EST, tune in for Georgia Artists for Georgia’s Future: A Benefit Concert to Flip the Senate! The one-night event stars and celebrates performers, playwrights, and politicians born in or currently living in Georgia, and benefits the Rev. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff Senate campaigns.

Keen Company will present the the first offering of HEAR/NOW, Keen’s season of audio theater: 1993 is an immersive audio drama with original songs set in Alphabet City written, performed, scored and designed by theatremaker finkle.

 This evening following the “Spotlight on Plays” reading of Donald Margulies’ TIME STANDS STILL, NPR’s Deborah Amos will moderate a post-show discussion with the playwright and actors. The play reunites the original company Eric Bogosian, Brian d’Arcy James, Laura Linney & Alicia Silverstone directed by Daniel Sullivan.

 The “Spotlight on Plays” series will continue with a first-time reunion of the original Broadway Manhattan Theatre Club production of Donald Margulies’ TIME STANDS STILL on Thursday, December 3 at 8PM EST/ 5PM PST. The play stars Eric Bogosian, Brian d’Arcy James, Laura Linney and Alicia Silverstone directed by Daniel Sullivan.
