Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre has announced its 2021-22 season as life finally returns to a renovated Warwick Theatre.

Founder and Artistic Director Vincent M. Lancisi and Managing Director Marissa LaRose today announce the new, 2021/22 season at Everyman Theatre.

Today, Hartford Stage announced plans to reopen the theatre to in-person performances for the 2021/2022 Season beginning in October 2021. The theater will produce a 5-play Mainstage season plus a holiday performance. All performances will be held at Hartford Stage on 50 Church Street in Hartford.

Ford's Theatre today announced the launch of The Lincoln Legacy Commissions—a new play development initiative for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) playwrights that explores racial history and social justice in the United States and gives voice to lesser-known historical figures and their contributions to American life. Playwrights Pearl Cleage, Rickerby Hinds, Nambi E. Kelley, Dominic Taylor and Charlayne Woodard comprise the inaugural writers of The Lincoln Legacy Commissions.

In an effort to share knowledge, resources and strengthen the infrastructure of the Black theatre landscape in the United States, the country's independent Black theatre building owners, including Black Ensemble Theater, have forged a new alliance.

The “Spotlight on Plays” series has announced Emmy Award winner Eric McCormack and Brandon Burton will join previously announced star Mary-Louise Parker in Paula Vogel’s The Baltimore Waltz, directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz.  The Baltimore Waltz will premiere on Thursday, April 29 at 8PM EST/5PM PST and will be available for a limited time only.

On Thursday, April 8 at 8pm ET,  'Spotlight on Plays' will continue with Pearl Cleage's Angry, Raucous and Shamelessly Gorgeous. Camille A. Brown (Choir Boy) directs Debbie Allen as 'Betty,' Phylicia Rashad as 'Anna,' Heather Alicia Simms as 'Kate' and Alicia Stith as 'Pete.' Academy Award winner Ellen Burstyn & SAG nominee Carla Gugino will star in Watch on the Rhine, Emmy Award winner Kathryn Hahn will star in The Sisters Rosenweig, Tony Award winner Audra McDonald will star in Ohio State Murders, Tony Award winner Mary-Louise Parker will star in The Baltimore Waltz and Academy Award winner Meryl Streep will star in Dear Elizabeth.
