For the second show in their 2022 season of original outdoor musical revues, Transcendence Theatre Company will present HOORAY FOR HOLLYWOOD. 

Jon Corum's SPLINTERS is the latest micro budget independent film to be supported by Outsider Pictures, as part of its new strategy to bring first time independent directors voices to the screen. SPLINTERS' initial festival push was put on hold due to covid, and the film will now be released on TVOD sites, beginning April 15, 2022 and then on AVOD platforms later this year.

Casting has been announced for the upcoming New York City premiere of Leaving the Blues, a new play by Jewelle Gomez, directed by Mark Finley. Rosalind Brown (original Broadway productions of Footloose and One Mo' Time) will play the lead role of Alberta Hunter, the great American jazz singer and songwriter. The cast also features Michael Michele Lynch, Joy Suddath, Cooper Sutton, Benjamin Mapp, Ameerah Briggs, Tsebiyah Mishael Derry and Erik Ransom.

Red Bull Theater today announced the cast for the one-night-only, all-star benefit concert performance of the Olivier Award-winning Best Musical Return to the Forbidden Planet, a musical of Shakespearean proportions by Bob Carlton. The 2019-'20 Season kick-off event will take place Monday October 21st at the Peter Norton Symphony Space (2537 Broadway at 95th Street)

Inspired by Frank Wedekind's timeless female protagonist, LULU XX challenges the idolatry and the misogyny of the male gaze in the artistic representation of women. Created by WaxFactory's co-founders Ivan Talijancic and Erika Latta, the performance revisits the unapologetic heroine of Wedekind's Lulu plays (Earth Spirit and Pandora's Box), asking new questions about agency, representation, and violence in the contemporary world. LULU XX runs September 18a?"28 at the Connelly Theater (220 E 4th Street, Manhattan) with an opening set for September 19.

The Phoenix Theatre rises in Chester County this summer with its inaugural production. In residence at SALT Performing Arts in Chester Springs, this brand-new company dedicated to re-envisioning classics, producing bold contemporary pieces, and forging new works, debuts with a production of William Shakespeare's The Tempest. This magical production is set to run July 5-21. Opening night is July 6 at 7 p.m. All shows will be performed at SALT Performing Arts, 1645 Art School Road, Chester Springs. Written by Yasmina Reza, directed by Jerry Heymann and now in performances at Urban Stages, Life x3 is New Light Theater Project's revival performance using the translations of Christopher Hampton. With a stellar cast that can navigate the paths of essentially three characters each with obvious ease, this production carefully presents nuances in character and circumstance and asks the audience to notice how and why each of the three instances is different. Ironically, Miklos Laszlo's 1937 play 'Parfumerie' was not produced in the United States until 2009. Yet that did not stop the Hungarian hit from becoming the inspiration for a whole host of American films, plays and musicals: first the 1940 film, 'The Shop Around the Corner' with James Stewart and Margaret Sullivan, then in 1949 as 'In the Good Old Summertime' with Judy Garland and Van Johnson, then in 1998 as 'You've Got Mail,' with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. It also inspired the 1964 musical by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick, (the team behind 'Fiddler on the Roof').
