Actress Anika Noni Rose has been confirmed to play the role of Juliet in the LA Phil all-Tchaikovsky program led by Music Director Gustavo Dudamel, Thursday and Friday, March 10 and 11, at 8 p.m., as well as Saturday and Sunday, March 12 and 13, at 2 p.m. The Sunday concert is the second LA Phil LIVE performance, and will be simulcast live in theaters across the country, at 2 p.m. Pacific/5 p.m. Eastern. The all-Tchaikovsky concert program features the composer's three Fantasy-Overtures inspired by Shakespeare plays - Hamlet, The Tempest and Romeo and Juliet. Preceding each of these powerful symphonic poems are selections from the Bard's immortal works performed by the previously confirmed cast of actors - Orlando Bloom as Romeo, Malcolm McDowell as Prospero, and Matthew Rhys as Hamlet.
