The Kavinoky Theatre, a professional theatre on the campus of D'Youville College, celebrates its 40th Anniversary season with the smash hit musical comedy Hairspray. 

Producer Eric Krebs announced today that I Spy a Spy: A Declassified Musical, the new musical-comedy by SoHee Youn and Jamie Jackson will end its engagement at The Theatre at St. Clement's (423 West 46th Street-between 9th and 10th Avenues) following the evening performance on Saturday, August 10th, 2019. I Spy a Spy began performances July 6th, 2019 with the official opening on July 18th. It will have played 10 preview and 26 regular performances.

Actress/singer par excellence Lisa Donahey presented her Big 50th Birthday Bash at Feinstein's Upstairs at Vitello's Friday July 19 and did an encore performance Sunday July 21. I attended Friday and had a great time. Donahey has an infectious personality. Her charisma is enormous, as she talks directly to her audience, including them in the repartee - with a bevy of surprises - and has a joyous time doing it. Backed by six extraordinary musicians* with virtuoso musical director David Arana at the keyboard, the show came in at almost two hours, but was so enjoyable, the time flew by, literally. Donahey had two glorious backup singers Lyndsay Dodoras and Billye Johnstone

Due to technical issues (or spy interference) the Off Broadway premiere of I Spy A Spy, a new (declassified) musical comedy, with book and lyrics by Jamie Jackson and book & music by SoHee Youn, directed and choreographed by Bill Castellino (Cagney, Desperate Measures) with musical direction by Dan Pardo (Amazing Grace) will now begin its limited engagement (through September 21) at The Theatre at St. Clement's (423 West 46th Street - between 9th & 10th Avenues) on Saturday, July 6th at 8pm. The show will have its official opening on Thursday, July 18th at 7pm.

The Chicago League of Lady Arm Wrestlers (CLLAW) will put the sizzle in your summer at CLLAW XXXIII: A Midsummer Night's Smack Down on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Logan Square Auditorium, 2539 N. Kedzie Ave. in Chicago. CLLAW's 33nd benefit match will feature Chicago's biggest, baddest lady arm wrestlers, live musical entertainment from indie rock band Mister E Machine and a cash bar. Doors open at 9 pm with the first match beginning at 9:30 pm. Tickets, priced at $20, are available in advance at www.cllaw.org or $25 at the door (the ladies will gladly take cash or credit at the door). The event is 21+.

zxZXAt the 73rd Annual Tony Awards, the talented cast of AIN'T TOO PROUD - THE LIFE AND TIMES OF THE TEMPTATIONS performed a medley of songs from the show.
