Simon Russell Beale, Adam Godley & Howard W. Overshown to Star in THE LEHMAN TRILOGY in Los Angeles

The Los Angeles run of The Lehman Trilogy will star original London and Broadway cast members Simon Russell Beale and Adam Godley, reprising their celebrated turns as Henry Lehman and Mayer Lehman, respectively. They will be joined by Broadway company member Howard W. Overshown, who will take over the role of Emanuel Lehman.

Today, a digital lottery for The Lehman Trilogy, the five-time Olivier nominated epic play by Stefano Massini and adapted by Ben Power, was announced ahead of the production’s first preview on Saturday, September 25. 

Extension Announced For THE MIRROR AND THE LIGHT at the Gielgud Theatre

The third and final novel in the Wolf Hall trilogy has been adapted for the West End stage by Dame Hilary Mantel and Ben Miles. Jeremy Herrin, who was nominated for an Olivier Award, a Tony Award and won the Evening Standard Award for the first two productions, returns to direct. Nathaniel Parker resumes his Olivier Award winning portrayal of Henry VIII.

New names added to the cast are: Melissa Allan (Princess Mary), Samuel Awoyo (Ensemble), Ian Drysdale (French Ambassador), Jo Herbert (Lady Rochford), Andrew Hodges (Ensemble), Niamh James (Ensemble), Umi Myers (Helen Sadler / Dorothea Wolsey), Liam Smith (Walter Cromwell) and Nicholas Tizzard (Ensemble).

As previously announced Ben Miles will return to his role as Cromwell to complete the trilogy. Nathaniel Parker joins him, resuming his Olivier Award-winning and Tony Award nominated role as Henry VIII. The full cast of 23 will be the biggest yet in the series, with 13 actors announced today, five of whom - Miles, Parker, Nicholas Boulton (Duke of Suffolk), Matt Pidgeon (Stephen Gardiner) and Giles Taylor (Archbishop Cranmer) - return to their roles in the earlier plays.

The National Theatre's five-time Olivier Award nominated epic play, The Lehman Trilogy, is set to resume performances on Broadway on Saturday, September 25, with an opening night set for Thursday, October 14 at the Nederlander Theatre. General On-Sale tickets for The Lehman Trilogy will be available beginning Wednesday, June 9 at 10am ET.

Hampstead Theatre has announced its first live productions for 2021.  Alfred Fagon's darkly compelling, The Death of a Black Man will run from 28 May until 10 July having originally premiered at the theatre in 1975.  46 years on, this rare revival from the Black British playwriting canon, raises many of the same questions we face today surrounding identity, capitalism and sexual politics.
