Producers Sonia Friedman and Scott Rudin announced today that Tony® Award nominee Tom Sturridge, Olivia Wilde in her Broadway debut, and Tony® Award winner Reed Birney will lead the cast of the Broadway Premiere of the new stage adaptation of George Orwell's dystopian novel 1984. The trio, who will portray the novel's classic characters Winston Smith, Julia and O'Brien, respectively, will be joined by Wayne Duvall (Parsons), Carl Hendrick Louis (Martin), Nick Mills (Syme), Michael Potts (Charrington), and Cara Seymour (Mrs. Parsons).

Olivier Award-winning director, Robert Icke's (Mary Stuart, The Red Barn, Uncle Vanya, Oresteia, Mr Burns and 1984), ground-breaking and electrifying production of William Shakespeare's Hamlet, starring BAFTA award-winner Andrew Scott (Moriarty in BBC's Sherlock, Denial, Spectre, Design For Living and Cock) in the title role, will transfer to the Harold Pinter Theatre, following a critically acclaimed and sell out run at the Almeida Theatre.

As BroadwayWorld reported earlier this year, the lauded stage adaptation of George Orwell's classic dystopian novel 1984 will soon make the leap from the London to Broadway. The show will officially begin previews at the Hudson Theatre on May 18, with an opening night scheduled for June 22.

Audiences have just six weeks left to see the critically acclaimed Headlong, Nottingham Playhouse and Almeida Theatre production of 1984. Since opening at the Nottingham Playhouse in 2013, the production has played almost 700 performances across the globe and, by the end of this run, over 380,000 people will have seen the show. Directed by Robert Icke and Duncan Macmillan with Daniel Raggett, the limited run at the Playhouse Theatre must end on 29 October 2016.

Robert Icke and Duncan Macmillan's brilliant adaptation of George Orwell's formidable novel has returned the West End, following international tours and its very successful London run last summer. Perhaps not typical summer-viewing, this production combines the fantastic and too-true to create something really thought-provoking.

Directed by Robert Icke and Duncan Macmillan with Daniel Raggett, this year will see an entirely new cast take to the stage in George Orwell's dystopian masterpiece. Last night Alexi Kaye Campbell's new play, SUNSET AT THE VILLA THALIA, directed by Simon Godwin, had its press night at the National's Dorfman Theatre. The show features design by Hildegard Bechtler, lighting design by Natasha Chivers, music by Michael Bruce, movement by Jonathan Goddard and sound design by Tom Gibbons. The cast includes Christos Callow, Sam Crane, Glykeria Dimou, Elizabeth McGovern, Ben Miles, Pippa Nixon and Eve Polycarpou.
