The Public Theater has revealed the 10 new playwrights have been selected for the 2023-2025 Emerging Writers Group.

Eastern Angles has announced the appointment of Jake Smith as their new artistic director and CEO. He succeeds Ivan Cutting who has been at the helm of the company for 40 years. In a unique first for an arts institution, both will work together until the end of the year as part of a handover to ensure the philosophy is carried forward into the next era of work.  

Tim Sheader has been appoint as the new Artistic Director and joint Chief Executive of the Donmar Warehouse, alongside Executive Director Henny Finch.

Samson Hawkins’s play is great fun, but it’s a complex one. This good-hearted comedy cum moral whose identity is defined by precise British sit-com humour (with all the good and bad that comes with it) is threatened by a sense of inauthentic working class ideals. However, if we give in and welcome the satiric idyll of South Northamptonshire, we’ll find a collection of peculiar characters who keep edging and retreating from political incorrectness written with idiosyncratic flair.

Award-winning, East London-based theatre company Squint today announces and opens applications for The Squint Playwriting Award. Theatre Royal Stratford East has announced casting for their co-production with Nottingham Playhouse and Ramps on the Moon, the world premiere of Samson Hawkins’ new play VILLAGE IDIOT directed by Stratford East Artistic Director Nadia Fall.  

Theatre Royal Stratford East are hosting a symposium sharing their learning/s from the past seven years as a partner in Ramps on the Moon, a consortium which aims to enrich stories and the ways in which they are told by putting deaf and disabled artists and audiences at the centre of their work.

Theatre Royal Stratford East today announces the cast for Maryland, Lucy Kirkwood's new play written in response to the murders of Sarah Everard and Sabina Nessa, originally performed at the Royal Court in the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs in October 2021.

The cast includes Elise Zavou as Red, Maisey Bawden as Mum, Phil Nichol as Granny, Jodie Jacobs as Woody, Ashley Goh as Bo Peep, Raphael Bushay as Wolf and Luke Latchman as Wolfie.
