Astoria Performing Arts Center, in association with Dutch Kills Warehouse and Lawryn LaCroix, will present the U.S. premiere of Buggy Baby by Josh Azouz, which marks the playwright’s American debut.

Round Rock’s premier theatre company Penfold is known for their creativity and excellent production values, but their presentation of Peter Shaffer’s AMADEUS leaves me puzzled on nearly every level.

Meghann Fahy, Theo James, Will Sharpe, and Leo Woodall will join the previously announced Aubrey Plaza, F. Murray Abraham, Jennifer Coolidge, Adam DiMarco, Tom Hollander, Michael Imperioli, and Haley Lu Richardson in the new season of the hit HBO series. Second Stage Theater has announced that Maulik Pancholy will complete the cast of JC Lee’s world premiere comedy, TO MY GIRLS, directed by Stephen Brackett. Mr. Pancholy last appeared at Second Stage in the Broadway production of Bess Wohl’s Tony-nominated play, Grand Horizons.

Theater for the New City's Emerging Playwrights Program will be beneficiary of the theater's 19th annual Love 'n Courage benefit Monday, February 14, 2022 at The Players, 16 Gramercy Park South.  The evening honors Austin Pendleton, Drama Desk and Obie winner, Tony Award nominated actor, playwright, theater director and teacher.

HBO's critically-acclaimed limited series, The White Lotus, from Mike White, has cast F. Murray Abraham, Adam DiMarco, Tom Hollander and Haley Lu Richardson for its second season. Kicking off the month on January 1st is the 1945 musical comedy film Ziegfeld Follies, featuring Fred Astaire, Lucille Ball, Gene Kelly, Judy Garland, Fanny Brice, Lena Horne and more. The How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying film, based on the musical of the same name, is set to debut on January 4th.

Playwright/performer J. Elijah Cho’s award-winning MR. YUNIOSHI comes to the Santa Monica Playhouse November 11th and 14th as part of CRAZY WOKE ASIANS’ KUNG POW FESTIVAL and as a guest production December 5th, 12th and 19th. The titular character was the supporting character in the otherwise classic 1961 film Breakfast At Tiffany’s starring Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard. Mr. Yunioshi was beyond stereotypically portrayed by Mickey Rooney.

Theater for the New City is holding its annual Village Halloween Costume Ball, a tradition for nearly 50 years, free and outdoors this year with big bands, big tents, singers, dancers and more on 10th Street.

Theater for the New City has presented its Village Halloween Costume Ball annually since 1976. With safety paramount this year, the fete will take place October 31 as an open-air celebration outside the theater, on East Tenth Street between First and Second Avenues. 

Several of my teachers have said, “part of this first year is about getting comfortable being uncomfortable.” Generally, this statement means two things:
