This Spotlight focuses on Andrea Stradling, a Los Angeles-based actor formerly in health care public relations who fully understands and appreciates the dedication and sacrifices being made by those on the frontline treating patients in the Covid-19 pandemic. BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that stage and screen actor Mark Blum, who most recently appeared on Broadway in The Assembled Parties (2013), has passed away due to complications from Coronavirus. He was 69 years old.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that the Royal Court Theatre/Atlantic Theater Company production of Martin McDonagh's new comedy Hangmen will not resume performances at Broadway's Golden Theatre following the suspension of Broadway on March 12, 2020. The Olivier Award-winning Best Play began performances on Saturday, February 28, 2020, played 13 previews and was scheduled to officially open on Thursday, March 19, 2020.

Other Lives are set to release their long-awaited new album For Their Love on ATO Records on April 24, and today the band shares their new single “Hey Hey I.” The track comes via a striking black-and-white video shot in the A-frame house studio in the Oregon mountains where the band recorded For Their Love. “The video is a reflection of the recording process of the album, that took place in the A-frame in the woods,” says frontman Jesse Tabish. “We wanted to portray this process in a natural, organic way, without telling a story but rather showing glimpses of us working together as well as coming together with friends.”

Their a?oeHenry the Fifth,a?? as with all the other plays in the current cycle, is full of surprises and fresh interpretations. It is clear that the Histories Repertory will wrap up a few loose ends, while pointing towards contentions and bloodshed to come.

Shemika Berry of Accokeek, Maryland gave a history lesson to the students at Harriet Tubman Elementary School in Washington, D.C on March 10. Berry is a former Air Force officer, actress, and makeup artist.

Martin McDonagh's Hangmen is currently in previews at Broadway's Golden Theatre!  Directed by Matthew Dunster, Martin McDonagh's Hangmen features Mark Addy (Harry), Tracie Bennett  (Alice), Ewen Bremner (Syd), Owen Campbell (Clegg), Jeremy Crutchley (Inspector Fry), Gaby French (Shirley), Josh Goulding (Hennessy), John Hodgkinson (Pierrepoint), Richard Hollis (Bill), John Horton (Arthur), Ryan Pope (Charlie) and Dan Stevens (Mooney), joined by understudies Sebastian Beacon, Pete Bradbury, Katie Fabel, and Colin McPhillamy.

The final chapter of The King's Shadow is about to begin. Henry the Fifth, opening March 14, 2020, completes the first season in Brave Spirits Theatre's two-year project to stage Shakespeare's eight history plays about the Wars of the Roses. During a tumultuous period of less than a hundred years, England experienced civil war and political upheaval as the throne switched hands nine times. Shakespeare dramatized these events over the course of his career in eight remarkable plays: Richard the Second, Henry the Fourth Part 1, Henry the Fourth Part 2, Henry the Fifth, Henry the Sixth Part 1, Henry the Sixth Part 2, Henry the Sixth Part 3, and Richard the Third. Brave Spirits Theatre is making history by becoming the first professional American theatre company to mount full productions of Shakespeare's two tetralogies and perform them in repertory.

Lagata Scansion  will present the third go-round and first run of it's tentpole musical parody, Scandusical. Testing it's wings after a successful debut as part of the Emerging Artists New Works Series in October 2019, Scandusical will be up and running for four dates, beginning March 11, 2020 at 8pm on the Striker Stage of The PIT Nyc. Featuring Rebekah D. Wilson, Alexis Braxton, Brette Morningstar, Daniel Taytro, Henry Eden, John Mooney, Kate Theis, Lorenza Bernasconi, Marcus Emel, Nick Lunetta, Raul Fox, Sadiqa Smith-Ford, Wilma Rajakorpi and Xan Oliva led by music director Melody Valdez.
