La Jolla Playhouse has announced the cast of its production of The Wizards of Oakwood Drive, by Tom Salamon (Accomplice: San Diego, The Grift at the Lafayette Hotel), commissioned by the Playhouse for its Digital Without Walls (WOW) series.

PLAY AT HOME, the new micro-commissioning initiative begun by Baltimore Center Stage, Long Wharf Theatre, The Public Theater, The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis and Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, has announced their 100th playwright commission, ensuring that $50,000 has gone directly to playwrights in need in this time of crisis.

La Jolla Playhouse has announced three more productions in its Digital Without Walls (WOW) series: Show Me A Good Time, The Totally Fake Latino News with Culture Clash, and the Wizards of Oakwood Drive.

On Thursday, May 14, the Playhouse's Digital WOW Series launches with Mike Sears and Lisa Berger's ANCIENT.

The Old Globe continues to add free online programs and new dates for existing ones, all part of The Old Globe's ongoing commitment to serve the public good by providing programs that make theatre matter to more people.

La Jolla Playhouse has announced a new series of imaginative, digitally-delivered productions as part of its Without Walls (WOW) program. From intimate, one-on-one experiences to collective events, these brand new virtual WOW offerings bring world-class artists directly into patrons' homes, helping to create social contact.

Late last month, a small group of regional and not-for-profit theatres, all committed to finding ways to keep people connected to live theatre, came together by phone and email and Zoom to create the Play At Home project, a series of short plays commissioned specifically for this moment of unprecedented isolation to inspire joy and connection for all.

The Old Globe presents West Coast premiere of Little Women by Kate Hamill. This brand-new version of Louisa May Alcott's classic novel about Jo March and her three unforgettably distinct sisters is presented in association with Dallas Theater Center and is directed by Sarah Rasmussen (Artistic Director of Jungle Theater, which originally commissioned the play).

Many American theater-goers have either read Little Women in High School, or seen the play, musical, or recent star-studded film.  When staging this show, the challenge therefore becomes- how do you keep it fresh and original?  Luckily for us, Dallas Theater Center has never had a problem with a lack of creativity, and they didn't start with this production of Little Women! 

Dallas Theater Center presents an adaptation of the timeless literary classic, Little Women, at the Kalita Humphreys Theater. A fresh spin on the familiar tale, Little Women begins with a Pay What You Can performance on Feb. 7 and continues through March 1. La Jolla Playhouse announces the on-sale date and full programming for its acclaimed biennial Without Walls (WOW) Festival, a four-day celebration of site-based and interactive performances, taking place October 17 a?" 20 at San Diego's ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station, in partnership with the NTC Foundation.

WHAT YOU ARE, the world premier play at The Old Globe is an engaging and empathetic look at two generations who are struggling with the broken promises of a prosperous and better future.

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the world premiere of What You Are, a Globe-commissioned new play by JC Lee and the second show in the 2018-2019 Season developed in the Powers New Voices Festival. Directed by Patricia McGregor, What You Are will run May 30 - June 30, 2019 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run May 30 - June 5. Opening night is Thursday, June 6 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets start at $30.00 and are on sale now. Cygnet Theatre announces the line up for The Bill and Judy Garrett Finish Line Commission. The 2018 playwrights include Christopher Oscar Pe a, Danielle Mohlman, and Mike Sears. Free public readings of all three plays will take place Feb. 16 - 18, 2018 at Cygnet Theatre.
